This package includes 6 hours private lessons gear inclusive plus 3 days full gear rental. In the first 3 days of your holiday, you will have 2 hours of private lessons per day with your instructor. In the following 3 days, you will practice on your own - under supervision - what you have been learning in the previous days. Paje by Night is located 70 meters inside of the beach.
The bungalows, the yoga studio, the massage salon, the swimming pool, the main restaurant and bar are located in a large verdant plot dotted with mature Ficus, Flamboyant and Coconut Palm trees. It is the perfect place to regenerate away from the beach folk and it is nicely shielded from the monsoon winds.
You can reach the beach in a minute walk along a narrow sandy path. Right there on the beach you will find our kiteschool Hakuna Matata Kite.
All the 19 bungalows overlook the garden. They are simple, pleasant, comfortable, and fitted with air-conditioning and private en-suite bathroom.
There are 3 categories:
- The Standard Bungalows are 15 sqm and feature a double bed.
- The King Size and Concept Bungalows are 22 sqm and can be double or triple. Each Concept Bungalow has its unique décor and style. Both feature a kingsize double bed and Paje by Night can place an extra single bed. The triple features 3 single beds.
Programa
Itinerary
Kitesurfing is tides and wind-dependent ,so it is not really possible to create in advance a precise daily schedule. Lessons are set to begin the day after arrival.
A typical plan looks like this:
Day 1: Arrival
Arrive at your accommodation and meet the team.
Day 2: 2 Hour Private Lessons with Your own Instructor
If you are a beginner your Instructor will introduce you to the sport and teach you various safety rules and skills on land before going into the water; The safety training will teach and show you how to assess the wind and physical location as well as how to properly manage the equipment; set-up; and control the trainer kite.
If you are not new to kitesurfing we can take you from intermediate to fully independent so that you will be able to rent equipment wherever you go; From independent to advanced learning to master riding in all directions as well as basic jumping techniques, pop, riding toeside, doing rolls, or combining tricks and how to rescue another rider and his board.
If are already advanced you can use these 6 hours to learn new tricks from our instructors or you can have a full day of gear rental to practice yourself.
Day 3 and Day 4: 2 Hour Private Lessons Per Day with Your Instructor
For a beginner it is time to get in the water and attempt the first water start. You will now put your skills to the test and experience the full potential of the wind. You will learn to use the kite power to body drag in all possible directions, water relaunch your kite, self-rescue, recover your board; and become proficient enough to begin riding on your own!
All other levels will keep spicing up their riding by reaching new possibilities up to preferred level 5 specialties.
Day 5, Day 6, and Day 7
It’s time for everybody to practice on their own (under supervision) - what they have been learning in the previous day. You have 3 days of full gear rental included in this package.
Day 8: Departure Day and Time to Say Goodbye
Kitesurfing is not the only activity offered by Paje by Night.
They also host a Yoga school, a spa where you can get relaxing and deep tissue massages and they arrange an array of tours and excursions on the island. There are plenty of ways to fill up your day!
Skill levels
This package is perfect for beginners, intermediate and advanced. If you are a beginner your instructor will take you from scratch and bring you to the level you can start kiting on your own.
If you are not new to kitesurfing Paje by Night can take you from intermediate to fully independent so that you will be able to rent equipment wherever you go.
If you are independent, they will take you to the advanced level where you will learn to master riding in all directions as well as basic jumping techniques, pop, and how to rescue another rider and his board.
Note for beginners: for your safety, if at the end of the 6 hours your instructor believes that you are not yet ready to ride on your own, the 3 day rental will be converted for free into 3 extra hours of private lessons.

Yassin Khamis
Yassin started his teaching career as an instructor in Dubai and is for the last 6 years teaching and managing Hakuna Matata Kiteschool. He is friendly, always happy, very patient and speaks very good English.
Majid alias Jux
Majid will also be part of the team.
Faiz alias G
Faiz is the newest member of the teacher team, now working his 3rd season, and you will be amazed how many tricks he already has in his trick-assortment. If he is not teaching, he will be riding himself to perfection his tricks!
Khamis
Another familiar face to the Hakuna Matata Family as Khamis is already few years around helping a lot of students perfection their waterstarts. Always smiling, always happy, especially if you manage to get on that board and ride!
Ubicación
Paje by Night is located in Paje, the best kitesurfing spot on the whole island of Zanzibar. The knee-deep lagoon, the steady mild wind, and flat water are absolutely perfect for beginners, intermediate as well as for independent kiters who wish to learn Freeride, Freestyle, Wave riding offshore the reef and Hydrofoil.
Paje is also a lively village with plenty of options to spend your evening around. There is a vast range of things to do on the island, notably some amazing diving, snorkeling, as well as some superb historic and cultural activities.
Alimentos
On food, they are flexible, the a la carte menu of their Italian restaurant offers a variety of dishes to choose from, most notably organic breakfasts, fish and seafood responsibly fished from the ocean, big healthy salads, meat, fresh homemade pasta, traditional soups, and real Italian wood-fired pizzas. They also offer very nice 100% fresh fruit sugar-free juices and smoothies as well as wines, beers, coffee and tea.
Most ingredients are freshly outsourced locally. Responsibly, they do not use palm oil. In their kitchen, you will only find extra virgin olive oil and sunflower oil. They also offer vegan and gluten free as an option.

Abeid Amani Karume International Airport

Arrival by airplane
Best option is to book your flight to arrive directly in Zanzibar at at Abeid Amani Karume International Airport (ZNZ). With KLM you can check-in a kite-bag instead of one suitcase for free.
Other option is to fly to Dar es Salaam and take a local flight to Zanzibar. Most of the time they will charge extra (25 - 50 USD) for the kite-bag. Your can also travel by ferry (2 hrs, 35 USD) and you can take the kite-bag for free. Location of the port is a minimum half hour drive from the airport, depending on the traffic.
