Northern Edge Algonquin is a sustainable retreat centre that has grown organically and intentionally since 1992 to host group retreat experiences in Algonquin Park. Each retreat features a range of cozy accommodations, delicious meals crafted with care from local ingredients, and gathering and practice spaces intentionally designed to inspire connection.

The centre provides a variety of accommodation options to meet the needs of guests participating in scheduled retreat programs or group experiences. Different from a hotel, accommodations at the Edge are simple, yet comfortable: a place to rest your head at night after a day of adventure, dreamtime, creativity, community, nature, and wonder.

Canopy Cabin

Simple, clear-roofed cabins bring participants closer to nature, just a short walk away from main programming spaces and amenities such as showers and flush toilets. Each canopy cabin features a double bed, ideal for solo travellers or couples.

Habitat Cabin

Cozy, rustic habitat cabins are located just a short walk away from main programming spaces and amenities such as washrooms and showers. Each offers a loft double bed above 2 single beds, making them ideal for sharing with friends or other participants.

Studio Cabin

Comfortable and spacious eco-friendly studio rooms are located just a minute’s walk away from main programming spaces and showers. These feature a small en-suite bathroom with an incinerating toilet. Both a double bed and a single bed make them ideal for couples or friends.

Log Cabin Bedroom

The luxurious and comfortable log cabin is located a bit further from the main programming spaces for optimal rest, and features en-suite bathrooms with showers. Each room’s Queen bed can convert into two twin beds, providing flexibility for solo travellers, couples, or friends.

Each retreat at the Edge features healthy doses of dreamtime, adventure, community, creativity, time spent in nature, and a dash of surprise. Ubicación

Northern Edge Algonquin, located 3 hours from Toronto at a quiet corner of Algonquin Park. Special places include:

Algonquin Park

The lake is well-known as Algonquin Park Access Route #1 by back-country campers. By paddling across the lake and through the iconic Amable du Fond river, campers and day-trippers can portage into North Tea Lake. Often guests visit the Amable with a morning tea with moose excursion to try and spy Algonquin’s most majestic animal.

Kawawaymog Lake

The Edge is located on the shore of Kawawaymog Lake, a small, quiet, and calm lake that is just perfect for swimming and exploring via kayak, canoe, or SUP. You may even take a day trip to Blueberry Island for an afternoon of sunning and swimming on a remote island. During winter, you can ski, snowshoe, kick sled, and skate on the lake.

The Forgotten Trails

Northern Edge Algonquin is surrounded by forests ripe for exploration, featuring the Forgotten Trails, a collection of volunteer-managed trails including One-A-Day, Tower Trail, and Loxton Beaver Trail. Edge also discovered some of its favourite off-the-beaten-path spots.
