It is located around the corner from our surf shop and a five-minute walk to the beach. There are several nearby grocery stores, taco stands, and cafes. The more upscale dining and shopping area of Anclote can be reached on an easy stroll.

Note: The studio does not have AC.

This modern apartment has two bedrooms, each with its own attached bath. The larger room is furnished with a king bed and an individual sofa bed, comfortably sleeping 3 adults. The mini bedroom comes with an individual bed, thus the entire apartment easily sleeps 4 people with a maximum occupancy of 5 guests. The well apartment is complemented by a palapa kitchen and a dining room, as well as a one-of-a-kind lap pool designed with a shallow area to relax and play. The apartment is classy. Modern design offers everything you need for a fabulous tropical stay!

Programa

In this surf camp, you will have daily surfing sessions. There will be three options for different level of surfers.

Surf lessons

The first part of the lesson is on land to ensure participants are ready to enter and exit the ocean safely and to practice the "pop up". Classes last for approximately two hours and include board, rashguard, and transportation.

Surf trips

Intermediate surfers may work on their turning and learn to gracefully and safely get off a wave. Surf trips are designed for people who already know how to surf, but would still benefit from local knowledge and transportation. Mita Surf House look for the best spot depending on the surfer's experience and the conditions of the day. They are there to assist surfers as needed, but less instructional than in a surf lesson. Surf trips last for approximately two hours and include board, rashguard, and transportation.

Guided surf break orientation

Mita Surf House designed this option for experienced surfers and paddle surfers who have their own gear and transportation and plan to surf independently. A few hours with the local surf guide will familiarize you with popular, as well as lesser-known, surf breaks in the Bahia de Banderas.

While visiting as many of the twelve surf breaks you choose to see, Mita Surf House will share their knowledge of parking, where to enter and exit the break, what the underwater conditions are (rocks, reefs, and many more), and which tide leads to optimal surf conditions. You can select how many hours you would like to work with surf guides, surfing along the way if you wish.

Ubicación

Mita Surf Apartment is located in the residential neighborhood of Emiliano Zapata. Many of the neighbors work in the fishing industry. Several mini-grocery stores within walking distance offer ease of preparing one's own meals. Guests can also take advantage of a mix of upscale, waterfront dining options (in a neighborhood known as Anclote) and economical local taco stands. It is generally a quiet neighborhood although in Mexico a roosters, dog or late-night party is to be expected from time to time.

They are a 20-minute drive to the popular town of Sayulita and a 45-minute drive from the Puerto Vallarta airport, private garage area may also be available (ask about availability upon booking).

¿Cómo llegar?

Driving directions

%These driving directions are also good for getting to our house if you have rented a car or are in a taxi. You'd be heading North on the freeway. Following signs towards Compostela/Tepic/Nuevo Vallarta. You're on the freeway for about 40 minutes and then look for signs to Punta Mita. There is a right-hand exit towards Punta Mita (PTA Mita)/ La Crux de Huanaxatle/Marina.

You take that exit and then continue on that road through the town of La Cruz, look out for speed bumps, especially at night! After going through the town of La Cruz the road will fork, take the right side. You will be on this stretch of highway for about 10 minutes, once you pass a Pemex station on your right you are almost there! The freeway basically ends in Punta Mita, you'll also have more speed bumps to look forward to.

Take a left off the freeway when you see a structure being built that looks like a giant Noah's Arc (it is a church) Then take your first left (with the soccer field on your right). Go two blocks on that street (Libertad) and take your second left when you get to La Mision de Mita on your right (a large, beige building of condos). Take that left (the street is Emiliano Zapata (and it has a sign) and Mita Surf House is the big white house on the next corner (on the right). That's 151 Emiliano Zapata. There is a sign outside "Mita Surf House."

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Licenciado Gustavo Díaz Ordaz International Airport (PVR). The transfer is not included but Mita Surf House offers roundtrip transportation for an additional 2500 MXN both ways, please send them a message to arrange this.

Arrival by taxi

If you'd like to get a taxi they cost about 70 USD pre-paid inside the airport (the price changes seasonally) and are right outside waiting for you. You pay at one of the booths and they give you a ticket to take to an official taxi. A cheaper option is to pay about 35 USD by going across the street from the airport. Exit and turn left and left again outside the airport building and you will go over an overpass to the other side of the highway. You'll find a taxi stand right there.

Arrival by bus

Using the overpass is also how you can get to the bus stand, and wait for a bus going to Mita. They come every 15 minutes or so and cost about 2 USD per person. The bus driver has change but best not to use anything larger than a 200 peso note.

To get the bus from the airport (which takes about an hour) you exit and turn left, at the end of the building turn left again and go over the overpass to the other side of the freeway. You'll see others waiting and you get the Punta de Mita bus. Take it until you get to Punta Mita and see a huge structure that is a gold and white boat (Noah's Ark to be exact). This is a church. Let the driver know you want to get off there and walk down that street with the soccer field on your right.

Make your first left and walk two blocks (the road will turn to cobblestone and then you will have the Mision de Mita on your right (a large cream/yellow colored building on condominiums. That street, Emiliano Zapata, you turn left (Theresa's taco stand will be on your left) and walk one block and you'll see a large white house on the right corner. That's 151 Emiliano Zapata. There is a sign outside "Mita Surf House."

You can ask around for "La Casa Blanca en Emiliano Zapata" or Teresa's Tacos which is a block away. Best to keep Mita Surf House's phone numbers with you so that the taxi driver or a local can call us if necessary for further directions: 322-138-9881 or 329-291-6315. If for some reason they are not able to be here when you arrive/or you are very delayed, the front gate is kept unlocked and they will leave the keys in the aloe flower pot up the stairs to the right. Mita Surf House's goal is to always have one of them available for check-ins, but life happens!
