Amanay Surf School

The surf camp was very cozy and quiet. It was a relaxed balance to the surf school. Alejandro and Markus were very friendly, funny and helpful, as were the other people in the house-keeping. I met very nice people there who booked another school as me. We spent the evenings together in the house, cooking or playing together. I particularly liked the fact that there were two guitars that could be used freely.

The surf school was very varied. In six days I had three different instructors. that was good so that i got to know different learning styles. In the course we were never as three students, that was perfect.

Aleks was very motivated and brought the mood to the course.

Mo, the 2nd teacher, dared me to go deeper in the area of line-up. It was great. He trusted me that I would be able to surf the unbroken waves. Unfortunately, I only trained with him for a one-day course.

Dave was great. I had a wound while surfing and he was very sensitive and made sure my feet were fine. I learned a lot with him about the technique and the balance on the surfboard. So that I finally managed to steer the board a little and slow it down comfortably.

Magdalena was great. She organized the bookings and was available to me in every matter and did everything to make me feel good as a student.

The locations and the instruction on surfing were amazing. Breathtaking beaches and sites alone the way. David always made sure to point out the local areas and wonderful facts on his island. It was a brilliant mix of local customs and excellent surfing. I have surfed prior many times and this experience was like none other. He can adjust learning to meet your needs and takes the time to really advance you from a beginner to intermediate. He pushes you in a positive way and even in some of the larger group days you felt as if you were in a private lesson. I surfed with David for 5 days and even as I became exhausted he slowed the pace and made sure I was still getting the maximum learning and surfing. We got to visit multiple locations and he would let us be a part of the hunt for the bear waves. Just hands down one of the best experiences of my life. I will be back and will do this again. The hotel was amazing with wonderful food and the location almost seemed fake. People couldn’t believe the picture from my balcony.

The location of the surfhouse was literally perfect! Is close to the beaches (6 mins walking), to a supermarkets, to downtown, to skatepark, but quiet enough. I loved Amanay surf school organisation. Everything was so specific, professional, always in time. Antonie the instructor was patient to new pupils and really helped me to improve my skills and gave me some tips and advices for the future. The equipment was quite new. So i had a great time, found new friend and wanna come back to Canary :)

If you are looking for a place, you must go there. It was cool. I had a great time surfing by Amanay Surf School. Magdalena was very friendly and helpful. Antoine was lovely, so friedly and encouraging.

Cometa Surf Guest house is amazing. A lot of nice hangouts, in and outside. Cleaned every day and the kitchen provides you with everything you need. Location is near a couple of shops and even closer to the beach.

The Surf lessons where great, you only have to bring swimwear and a bottle of water, everything else is taken care of. Pick-up, wet-suits, surfboards are provided and you have the chance of visiting a couple of different beaches.

Last cometa surf house: take a 4 or 6 bed room and enjoy the company of other surfers. Amazing facilities and great atmosphere.
