I highly recommend Joya, and I'm very grateful to the entire team for a truly incredible week. From the moment I arrived, everything was taken care of. The driver collected me at the airport, and on arrival, I was met by Antonia, who welcomed me into this family run guest house and ensured every day I had everything I needed.
For context, I'm a solo female traveller in my thirties, & I recommend this school for anyone focused on surfing over partying.
This retreat is a very unique - this is a family-run business with incredibly kind and encouraging instructors. I felt safe and comfortable at all times. If your goal is surfing and getting really great lessons, this retreat is for you! This is a new school, but Mournir has years of experience teaching, and all of the instructors are committed to your safety and progression. They know all the good surfing spots and cater the experience based on individual needs. (Safety Is a high priority!)
One of the standout features of this retreat was the personalized attention given to each participant. As the groups are small, I sometimes received one-on-one surfing and yoga classes. Whether you were a beginner or more advanced, the instructors will cater the experience to you.
Beyond the physical activities, the retreat provided a unique opportunity to immerse oneself in Moroccan culture. From delicious local cuisine prepared daily by the chef to guided tours( highly recommend the souk), it was a cultural journey.
