It was amazing experience to meet new people in a hostel and I think everything depends on that how the people currently are. Surfing experience was good one teacher were very strict and explained what surfing really are and we are just learning ABCD which is eye opening and helps to understand where I am so I can really improve if I want to. About the dorm they really need to fix some stuff. The safe was not working.

The best thing of the retreat are the instructors teaching the surf lessons, and the community that Home Grown facilitates. There is always an organize excursions every few days for group activities. The dinning area gives a cozy community atmosphere for bonding with other surfers. The cleaniliness of the place is also a plus.

A great opportunity to meet new people and get some excellent surfing lessons at fantastic spots where you really learn a lot. I also met lots of people there who were visiting the camp for the second time.

It was so easy to meet new people, everybody chilling together in the communal Spaces, going out for adventures or for drinks. Everybody was so nice!! And the surf instructors are amazing!! Cool, chill, teaching everything every time.

A life experience for me!! I will come back for sure

Great fun and relaxed teachers, a cozy casa to stay in and some expeditions around the island made the trip awesome. The teachers always knew a good spot to catch a wave.

A supermarket and cafés are right next door and the center of Corralejo is just a few minutes away.

Wirklich nette und erfahrene Surflehrer und eine super Stimmung in Casa Hilda. Man wurde vom Flughafen abgeholt und direkt in die Unterkunft gebracht und auch wieder zurück zum Flughafen gefahren. Man konnte zusätzlich zum surfen viel unternehmen, z.B. den Vulkan besichtigen. In unmittelbarer Nähe war ein Supermarkt und viele Restaurants. Der Surfshop war immer sehr hilfreich bei Problemen oder Fragen.

Ich würde diesen Urlaub jederzeit wieder buchen, egal ob allein oder mit Freunden. Kann ich definitiv weiter empfehlen.

Close to the beach and city centre, kitchen for cooking, big dining table for shared eating, more then enough showers & toilets. Excellent surf classes and the pickup from and to the airport is very convenient. The place is cleaned pretty well.

Every single surf instructor was great. They all made us feel so safe and well supported and also had great personalities that were easy to be around. Surfing is not easy when you’re first starting but we really did feel like we were with the best people for teaching.

It was truly an amazing experience. Very kind people working at Home Grown, the instructors were amazing very helpful and knowledgeable. We visited a couple of different spots, beaches and reefs as well. They helped me to improve a lot, so very grateful for that :)) The accommodation was great, ventilation is a must have, otherwise the nights can be quite warm. The kitchen is well equipped and the system for storing food is also very efficient. The city is also nice to explore many shops in the area. I would definitely recommend checking it out.

Nette kamers, met 2 in een kamer waar je met 4 kan slapen was zeer aangenaam. Duidelijke afspraken rond surfen. Mooie uitleg over het surfen, hoe het surfen werkt, de oceaan werkt. Persoonlijke feedback en tips voor/tijdens en na het surfen.

Ik heb echt genoten van mijn verblijf bij jullie en jullie mogen me volgend jaar terug verwachten.

Ook het vervoer van en naar de luchthaven is zeer handig.

Alles in allem tolle Leute, gute Lage des Hostels, tolle Stadt und für den Preis absolut empfehlenswert

The place was ok, nothing fancy but more than ok. The people, excellent. The classes beautiful. Looking already for my next booking.

Great house, wonderful blend of friendly people, excellent surfing and instruction, all logistics catered for.

You get to surf at various spots and the instructors explain a lot about the waves, the technique and how to behave in the water. Living at the hostel makes you meet many new people, the vibe was chill and the infrastructure was good as well. There are enough toilets and showers for everyone. The location is perfect for going into town or also take a little hike and they organize small tours to the dunes and the volcano. All in all it was very fun, the people I met were great and I really enjoyed my time.

I have met amazing people from different countries, everyone was friendly, spending time together which i really enjoyed.

My surf coach was Fabio, Manuel and Blanka(just for 1 day)

I've learnt from fabio and manuel more than I learned from my previous 3 camps, so yeah definitely it was worth it, most likely I'll come back soon just because of the vibe from flatmates 👌

I'm really appreciated that I had a chance to develop, sightseeing and enjoying every minute at the camp 😎

Alrhough the accommodation looked quite scary from the photos, it was actually fine and clean. The staff at the surf shop was always helpful and nice. The surfing sessions were fun and the instructors amazing! I think I’ll come back for more!

Homegrown is a fantastic camp to start leaning surfing or to continue your journey with it! The hostel itself is really nice, 1 second away from the big supermarket ( very very convenient) and 5 minutes walk from the really nice restaurants and even the Homegrown shop.

I had 3 amazing instructors (Blanka, Nacho and Lirio), each of them helped me improved in different ways, and they were all super friendly and fun to be around. Even on the days when the conditions were not ideal… they did their best to find beaches that were either less crowded or windy, so we could still be able to surf and leans something.

I couldn’t recommend this camp enough!

Sehr kompetent und lustig surflehrer.

Die Lage des Hostels ist perfekt 5 min zum Wasser und zur Mainstreet, ein Supermarkt genau gegenüber und ein anderer 2 min zu Fuß entfernt. Großer Saal zum Essen wo auch Theorieunterricht gegeben wird, 2 große Terrassen wo man gemütlich miteinander sitzen kann. Alles in allem sehr zu empfehlen und ich werde mein nächstes surfcamp wieder dort machen!

The organisational skills are great, instructors (such as Nacho, Daniel) are great and very helpful. I managed to surf on my second day🤩

The house was in a excellent position, it was close to: the supermarket (literally 1 minute), the centre of Corralejo, the beaches, the taxi station and the surf shop. The surfing teachers were all very competent, nice, very careful and ready to help (we really enjoyed being with Nacho, Manu and Dani). Everyday Lourdes, the best and kind cleaning woman, came to clean our mess in the house!!

When there were problems in Casa Hilda Andrew was always available to find a solution and we really appreciated the freedom that he gave to us in the house and the airport transportation (thank u Josh!!)

I love Homegrown. Manuel is the greatest surf teacher you can imagine. Very, very thoughtfull, patient - and just a fun person. Good eye for good waves and conditions, great teacher. Everyone is nice, everything is verry well organized, and most importand: You actually learn how to surf!

Will definetly come back.

The Camp is located in the middle of the city, few minutes away from the Beach! You get picked up by the teacher in front of Casa Hilda and everything is very well organised! The teachers are the best and everyone is super nice, you get individual advice based on your surfing skill.

There are amazing surfing vibes in this camp! Lovely surfing decoration, excellent location with supermarket opposite the house and next to the beach, the bars and restaurants! Our surf instructors Natso and Blanca were amazing and we had the best spots every time!! My best holidays!!! Thank you so much!!! 🩷

I took surfing & yoga for 8 days. We did yoga in the morning next to the beach, which was great! Surfing instructors were great too! Everything went as expected!

The good environment: nice people at the hostel and prepared and welcoming instructors .

We booked the option with the private appartment. It was right next to the main street so we had lots of options for restaurants, surf shops or ice cream stands.

The instructors went above and beyond to find us a surf spot for every day, regardless of the conditions. They were very knowledgable about surfing and the reef and conditions in Fuerteventura specifically.

From the airport transfer which is included, to the last day of surfing, everything was great !

The people and the atmosphere at the hostel, the surf lessons with great teachers in different spots, and the different choices for restaurants in Corralejo, all of that made it a perfect stay to escape the cold and grey winter.

Stop wondering if you should choose Homegrown, just do it. I've spent there 2 weeks and have had the most wonderful time! Daily surfing lessons are led by experienced teachers, groups are never bigger than 8 people per teacher which allows them to pay attention to every person and give individual tips, and each group is on a different level based on the individual skills.

You will be taken to various spots, beach and reef breaks, learn about different weather conditions, and get a lot of theoretical knowledge. You also get to use the surf equipment in the afternoons for free.

The hostel in a really good location just in front of a supermarket, 15 min walk to the beach and is surrounded by coffee shops and restaurants.

Make sure to take an eye mask and earplugs, in the end it's a hostel but during my time people have always been respectful. Apart from shared rooms there are common spaces where everyone can chill together.

Very good surfinstructors, who take their time and reorder groups when necessary.

Age ranging from 20-45, with open people and easy going. Great weather, nice surfspots and an awesome surprise during New Year’s Eve.

Returning to ibiza after a fantastic time with the homegrown surf crew. I would like to say a special thanks to all the staff, from Antonio who was on time, friendly & gave me some great advice and info on places & ways to enjoy the island, the store staff Ricardo & Sara who provided all I needed for my private surf sessions, including advice on boards & surf conditions, Lurdes who I had some great conversations with at the house, and of course, Fabio & Andrè for the entertaining & educational lessons, feedback & surf sessions together. I got the surfing feedback & experience I came for.

I really liked that I was able to surf several different types of boards throughout the week.

I enjoyed surfing in both the surf camp sessions & my own private sessions.

The trainers were great & able to accommodate teaching according to surfer’s experience level.

The location of the house was convenient for all it had in reach.

Supermarket is cheap and 5 meters away, restaurants are amazing (tapas oscar, blue's pizza, nino malo...), cocktails are cheap, great night life in a spanish ambiance.

Option to surf every day but better to plan rest days to avoid injuries.

There are always great waves every day (3 shores).

Great for beginners and beginner-improvers.

Teachers are very friendly, supportive and give great advice<3

Homegrown is just like a big international family, everyone is so kind and friendly that I made lots of friends here. The instructor is also good. As a beginner, my instructor Mauro taught me a lot and gave me lots of encouragement. Finally, when I caught up the wave and stood up on the board, I felt soo excited!

Good value for money; instructors (Daniel and Andrei) were very thorough in explaining things (safety, posture etc); Great connectivity with other learners and guests at Casa Hilda - we had a lot of fun.

I spent a week at the surf camp in March. The weather was warmer most of the week than what I expected (even 26 some days) but you want to pack a jacket and trousers because in the evenings it gets colder. The hostel wasn’t totally full during my stay, so the amenities were sufficient enough and it didn’t get too crowded. I traveled solo but I wasn’t alone during that whole week because you can easily socialize with the other surfers who most likely are also traveling by themselves. The instructors were really easy-going and nice to you, so I felt comfortable in the new surfing spots with them. Definitely recommend Homegrown and Fuerteventura, thank you for making my holiday a great one! Greetings from Finland!

The other surfes were very kind and we had a lot of fun. Everything was clean and there were many showers, which was usefull after the lessons

I liked that we went a bit later in the day other surf schools you are rushed in the morning and then unable to enjoy the area because you can’t go out.

Loved the vibe at the house and learned heaps in the surf lessons! Lirio was an amazing instructor.

Je voyage seule et je me suis tout de suite sentie à l'aise. La surfhouse est au centre de Corralejo, elle est pleine de voyageurs solo venant des 4 coins du globe et vous ne manquerez jamais de compagnie pour sortir ou partir à l'aventure.

Je n'avais jamais eu de leçons de surf aussi techniques et j'ai vraiment appris beaucoup. Les professeurs sont très attentifs.

Surfen war auch cool, nur wurde ich mir wünschen ein bisschen längere Zeit im Wasser, es war immer nur ca 2 Stunden am Tag. Und die Gruppenzuteilung war auch nicht immer wirklich passend. Aber in großen ganzem war es mega cool. Die Lehrer waren auch sehr nett, und Fabio ist der beste (vielleicht nicht der netterste, aber trotzdem der beste😁).

Abends konnte man gut ausgehen (Restaurants, Bars, Vulkanis usw) oder sehr gemütlich an der Terrasse sitzen. Massage kann ich auch nur empfehlen und Yoga nach dem Surfen war auch sehr schön. Ich komme gerne wieder 🏄‍♀️❤️🙂

First time in Homegrown in August was very good, and a learning process, when indeed I learned better conditions for surfing are in winter months, and I improved my pop up. This time, well this time it was paddling time but also a learning process of wave reading, positioning, and the attempts to catch the green waves. Since First day I had fun and even though i might have been not so good, I catched one very nice..and it has felt soooo good.

My instructor Andrei has been very good. He is keeping always an eye on you, he is available to advises and is patient even with “annoying puppies” like me. I am really grateful to him and to all the instructors’ team. They are all prepared and special persons.

The surf trainers were excellent and able to teach properly also to beginners. The locations were appropriate to the surf level. The pick up worked very well, the equipment was always good. All the guys in charge were kind and welcoming.

Definietely the atmosphere at the camp is what I liked the most. Don’t expect to sleep too much ;)

Surf lessons are good, teachers drive to spot with the best conditions for a given day and give nice tips and feedback. If you are lucky then you will have lesson with Nacho who gives also lectures of philosophy, architecture and NBA 😂 honestly, really good surf instructor.

The atmosphere and the people who stay in this hostel made me feel I made real friends from all around the world. I enjoyed it so much I decided to miss my flight and stay for few more days (which was very easy - I just went to the surf shop on the evening as they are open till 10pm). I am counting down days for my next visit in Homegrown. The food was incredible no matter where we went, it's cheap, always something to do (day and night), close to everything.

Just got back from my stay with Hope Grown Surf Camp.

I have been to Fuertaventura before but never stayed in a surf hostel. This was a fantastic experience and I got to see parts of the island and surf waves I wouldn’t on my own. The instructors are knowledgeable, warm and very generous with their time.

The atmosphere in the hostel was really nice. People were friendly and there is a nice sense of camaraderie with regards to each other’s surfing experience.

It also gives you a lot of choice and you can be as social or relaxed as you are comfortable with.

I would definitely recommend this experience, I came as a total beginner and left confident and sure I will be surfing again.

From the pick up at the airport to the drop off there hasn’t been a problem.

The instructors are really good and competent and they help you fall in love with this sport.

The location of the accommodation is perfect, close to the city centre and everything you might need.

The surf lessons were good. Every day we were divded into groups based on our skill levels. The instructors seemed like they are aware of what they are doing and were always caring about us students. Some of them also caught the waves together with us and gave individualized feedback. As we were driven to the best spots every day we could progress every day. We experienced different types of waves on the beach and on the reaf. In the afternoon and evening we discovered the island, its culture and the food! I also want to add that there is a small kitchen but cooking takes a bit longer cause you cook with gas there. Referring to the facilities in general the cleaning lady comes everyday and it is clean in the bathroom and kitchen. Besides that matresses are comfortable but you can feel that a lot of people are staying there. You sink in a hole a bit. Now being back home I already miss my surfing buddies and the good weather. I can definitely recommend staying at homegrown surf camp.

Ontzettend gave ervaring, mede mogelijk gemaakt door de super instructeurs! Daarnaast ook door de mensen in Casa Hilda. Zou het zo nog eens doen en raad het zeker aan te doen! Je krijgt er zeker geen spijt van.

The quality instructors, the material, the location of the house, the overall people from homegrown (shop, housekeeper, photographer etc) were all really friendly and helpfull. I would love to come back and bring my friends !

Pick up from the airport with a kind gentleman named "Antonio", a good location for the hostel which is close to the main street of Corralejo for a nice evening walk and exploring the neighborhood, Hostel is located in the most beautiful part of Fuerteventura, hostel is only 10 min. walking from their shop where you can have the boarding surfs for the evening if you wanna surf, a big supermarket just across the alley of the hostel to buy all the groceries you need, 5 hrs. of surf training everyday, experienced instructors, decent price for a 5-day stay plus surf training, I will come back again

everything is organized and being well taken care of. I felt safe and meanwhile free.

I like the accommodation. We have nice kitchen, enough bathrooms, and two open balconies where we could have some group activities.

I also like the surf experience, my coach explains well and are careful with our safety. The road trip to the beach everyday is also enjoyable.

we enjoyed the stay and learned a lot. Casa hilda is a comfortable house to stay. So in all, I would recommend this camp!

The lessons were great, after years since last time surfing the first one was with Francisco and he set me up again to surf. Then I moved with Andre for remaining 5 days and he was great because with his teaching I was able to improve daily. I will recommend this school as their goal is to really teach you how to surf.

Homegrown staff are very professional and you are handled well from arrival to departure (even the driver Antonio is amazing and very friendly). My surf course was mainly at Playa Blanca with instructor Francisco who was excellent, friendly and helpful and always put your safety first. The surf time for me was about right and it leaves time to rest and do other activities in the evening. I stayed in Casa Hilda, a lovely little hostel equipped with everything you need to cook a decent meal or breakfast. There are plenty of bathrooms/showers. We had people from several different countries so it is good for solo travellers (like myself) or small groups keen to meet new people. Rooms could have been air conditioned they were not hot and still comfortable in the evening. I really appreciated being allowed a late checkout which enabled me to visit Isla de Lobos before my flight back. I recommend if you have any concerns or issues let the staff know. They are very willing to help and accommodate. My main regret is not staying for longer. I fully recommend Homegrown and wouldn't mind actually coming again.

that was my first surf camp ever and it was great. the teachers take their time, explain really well what is important and give individual tips. basically the whole staff from homegrwon is very friendly and will help you where they can. the hostel is centrally located in the city, is super furnished. you can cook everything yourself there and there is enough space to eat, sit and enjoy the sun together. I can really recommend it to everyone!

Even though I found out I'm not good at surfing ;), I still had so much fun! I had a wonderful time with all the people in the hostel and with all the surfing instructors. Experiencing the waves in Fuerteventura was incredible and the surf school was very well organised. And Corralejo is a fun little town to spend a week of holidays :)

I really liked the surfing lessons, the atmosphere in the house with the others and the kindness of the organisers.

The whole hostel atmosphere at Casa Hilda was electric. It was fun meeting so many people from across Europe and having fun outside of the surf classes too.

I had an amazing time, the instructor were excellent and I learned a lot in 2 weeks. The hostel is full of amazing people and because of the clean lady is always clean. The stuff is very kind and ready to help!

My 5 days' surfcamp (3 days lesson with Homegrown and 4 nights in Casa Hilda) was essentially excellent!

Instructors are very professional and follow you quite closely. In 3 days, I was already able to catch some wave.

Also, lessons are quite long compared to the average.

The package was completed by my staying at Casa Hilda. If you're a solo traveller like me, looking for a funny and young environment, that's your place! You'll meet cool guys which you can spend the rest of your days with.

They keep the house quite clean too (of course, remember it's a shared place with 10-15 people).

Perfect place to meet people around the world who enjoy the surf or want to learn. Homegrown is like a great family with a good atmospher. The teachers were very good at explaining, taking time for each student to analyse their difficulties or trying to make them progress.

He pasado dos semanas en homegrown y ha sido espectacular. No me esperaba que fuera tan tan bueno. Ha superado todas mis expectativas. Tiene un ambiente que te engancha y el trato que tienen con los clientes es buenísimo. En la tienda/escuela son super profesionales y puedo corroborar que es una de las mejores escuelas que hay en Corralejo. Espero volver lo antes posible.

I just spend the most amazing two weeks at the homegrown camp. The instructors helped me to improve my surfing so much in those two weeks (I was mostly surfing with Greg) and I had so much fun in the camp as well because of the amazing people that stayed with me.

In our free time we went on a short trip to Lobos island, hiking a vulcano or just went to the beach to have dinner.

I highly recommend Homegrown and maybe I’ll go back next year :) thank you for the good memories!

Casa Hilda is an excellent place for solo travelers, you can really feel super chill atmosphere. I had classes with 3 different instructors and three of them provided me with all the tips and tricks that made surfing one of the best experiences in my life. We didn't stick to just one beach which was super cool, because you got to see the island.

i like the waves provided by the different spots of fuerteventura,

there are some nice reef breaks,

you feel safe on them, they are not crowded (but maybe thanks covid), and their waves are incredibly constent

i like my instructor as well: FLAVIO, who was passionate, very helpful either in the water or before each course by teaching us some basic about understanding the reef and the tide...

about the accomodation. nothing extravagant of course, but functionnal: close from the center of the city, very very close from the supermarket which is super convenient, clean, provided in bedsheets...

(i stress this point because i already sleep on a matress in the past ;-) )

in a nutshell, everythings is done to make sure you will catch the more and best waves as possible, and that is the purpose of the trip!

+/- 4 people were in the house and there was a very nice vibe and I made some good friends.

The 1 bathroom for more people was not always practical when we wanted to take a shower after a surf session.

I had an amazing experience with Homegrown, they indeed have very good teachers. Greg was really focused in enabling your progress. If you are seeking to indeed improve your surfing skills, this place is the best. I really liked that we were trying different spots each day, so we had the chance to work on specific skills and this also gave the opportunity to experience the island better.

Great town, great hostel, great surf, great people

Surfing, surfing, surfing. I was so exhausted.

Definitely a beautiful experience, both for the accommodation and for the surf course.

the mood at Casa Hilda is relaxed, they are all very helpful, open to new friendships and experiences (I am 19 years old, I came here completely alone and come home with friends from all over the world). The age in my course week (September) ranged from 18 to 30.

the surf course is perfectly organized; every time you do it

progress is placed in the most appropriate "group" to make the lessons always engaging, rewarding and above all stimulating.

It was a wonderful experience to be there. Starting by a warm welcome from everyone working for the homegrown shop. Going on to great people in the hostel. Finished by teachers that are very good, kind, patient with all pupils and in for a laugh anytime.

Fuerteventura is such a beautiful Island with great energy and nice people! If you like to chill, party, wander, swim, surf and meet new people than this place is one of the best one in Europe!

The accommodation was great, I’ve met many great people there and living in the share house is really fun! If you wish to be alone, you’re alone but then you would miss such interesting conversations and topics and that would be shame.

Fabio and Tito are the best teachers you could wish, both of them are completely different and have different ways how to teach but they are so helpful if you have struggles! And they can teach you pretty well! Plus it’s great to see them in action!

Het hostel was erg gezellig en sfeervol waardoor we gelijk in de stemming kwamen van het surfleventje en het samen dingen ondernemen met mensen die je daar ter plekke ontmoet. Het surfen zelf was heel leuk en de leraren waren erg goed en hadden veel geduld. Wat wij ook erg leuk vonden was dat de surfleraren er voor zorgden dat er dingen werden georganiseerd met alle mensen van de surfschool, zoals eten feesten, waardoor iedereen elkaar beter leert kennen en je je echt op je plek voelt. Wij komen zeker nog eens terug!
