El Ranchito Surfcamp

I loved everything about this trip. Guánico is such a beautiful and peaceful place, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the ocean. The surf lessons were amazing — you learn the basics so quickly and it’s a lot of fun. Laurent is a fantastic teacher who always explains clearly what you can improve next time, stays very calm and patient, and gives lots of positive encouragement.

The camp itself feels like a little paradise, with a beautiful garden and a great chill-out area where you can relax anytime. You really have everything you need there. And Jianis’ cooking is absolutely delicious — every meal was a highlight. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would definitely come back!

Ich liebe Jiani's Kochkünste. Lorenzo ist ein sehr ambitionierter und geduldiger Surflehrer. Er fängt gerne mit den Basics an und betont immer wieder, dass es keine Schande ist z.B. erstmal im Whitewater zu üben oder lieber ein Softboard zu nutzen. Insgesamt ein gut durchdachtes Konzept. Super ist auch, dass die Surfboards zum eigenständigen Üben zur Verfügung stehen. Man muss wissen, dass das Camp 4-5km vom Strand entfernt ist.

Great vibe to the experience. Was able to step into the world of surfing through the warm, family approache that the El Ranchito Surf Camp offers. Would return in a heartbeat!

Jaini and Lorenzo were really nice and tried hard to make your stay enjoyable. The food was great

This was a really great location for a beginner like me: a big, sandy beach with warm water and few people around. Lorenzo is a really patient and upbeat coach, even if you keep making the same mistakes : /

He gives helpful feedback and was genuinely happy for me when I did well. He helped me feel comfortable enough to go out on my own for a second session after our lessons. He also helped me to finally surf some green waves when the conditions were right.

Depending on your skill level, fitness, and the conditions, you could surf a lot while here, which is pretty great.

I arrived in the low season so dinners weren’t included for my stay, and I cooked a lot. But Jiani did offer to make dinners in the second week of the stay and she is probably the best cook in Guanico. Their cafe at the beach also offers healthy food choices, good coffee, and a place to hang out. The volunteers and staff were super helpful and nice.

There were s lots of wildlife around, including capuchins.

Super cozy and nice accomodation, the teacher and the staff were extremly warmhearted, funny and nice!

I had a great time at El Ranchito Surfcamp. There is a lovely beach with only a few other surfers so everybody has enough space for their surfing. Jiani and Lorenzo have a great sense of hospitality so you feel quite cosy in the little camp. Also the food for dinner as well as in the Cafe at the beach was phenomenal. I can recommend the camp to everybody who likes a remote and chilled place to improve or start learning how to surf.
