This is an adventure retreat just off the Cassowary Coast on the beautiful Bedarra Island where the Coral Sea meets the islands. Only 2 hours from Cairns International Airport and a tropical drive you will see spectacular scenery along the way. Bedarra Island is only a 30-minute boat ride from the small township of Mission Beach. The island is privately-owned so it will only be 6 people at any given time as this island is for the rich and famous and we have a small camp area with swags and tents with the best view of the Great Barrier Reef.

They design the itinerary around the customers on their arrival, you sit with the guests on the first day and write a schedule for the group. You do this for a few reasons and we find the customers may want to sleep in or change their mind on activity and when we do the programs. They are flexible on times that suit your group this also includes meal times as they work with you.

Daily itinerary

Day 1: Island Expedition

  • 08:00: Depart from Clump Point Marina, North Mission Beach.
  • 09:00: Arrive at East Bedarra House. The adventure begins as we walk up the hill to our accommodation. While it's a bit of a walk, there's a cool machine that carries your luggage to the top.
  • 10:30: Morning tea on arrival.
  • 11:30: Settle in and relax. The day is yours to unwind and get to know each other. There will be an optional guided afternoon walk to the adventure part of the island.
  • 13:00: Relish a delicious lunch, a well-deserved break after the morning's exploration.
  • 16:30: Take a pause and enjoy afternoon tea, recharging for the upcoming activities.
  • 18:00: Dream catcher workshop.
  • 19:30: Dinner.

This day 1 itinerary promises a seamless blend of adventure, relaxation, and culinary delights, making your island experience truly unforgettable.

Day 2: Get Ready and Shoes On

  • 06:30: Yoga on the deck.
  • 08:00: Enjoy a hearty breakfast, replenishing your energy after the invigorating morning hike.
  • 09:30: Pack our bags for the day and head over to the adventure side.
  • 11:00: Prepare for our water activities. These may change due to the weather, so we will decide the order in the morning.
  • 14:15: Lunch on the beach.
  • 15:30: Afternoon activities.
  • 17:00: Head back to the accommodation.
  • 19:00: Dinner.
  • Each day's weather is different, so activities may change.

Day 2 promises a harmonious blend of mountain adventures, water exploration, and lakeside serenity—a perfect continuation of your island expedition.

Day 3: Lakeside Bliss

  • 06:00: Yoga on the deck.
  • 07:00: Breakfast.
  • 08:00: Gear up—it's back to Adventure Island.

Today you will:

  • Get our fire ready and learn how to use a flint.
  • Collect timber.
  • Go on a bush walk.
  • Tour the old resort.
  • Participate in an animal magic workshop on the beach.
  • Enjoy lunch on the beach.
  • Engage in a water session (SUP/Kayak/Snorkel).
  • Dinner will be under the stars with a beach fire and stargazing under the full moon, followed by a night walk back to the retreating side.

Day 4: Tranquil Farewell

  • 06:00: Yoga session.
  • 07:30: Hot breakfast.
  • 11:00: Check out.

You will be back at Clump Point Marina around 11:45. You can decide to stay in Mission Beach longer or have your bus to Cairns organized.

  • Stop and get some yummy chocolate from our local chocolate farm
  • Stay a night of 2 in Mission beach before and after your trip
  • Reef Trip can be organised for at an extra cost

Once you arrive at Cairns airport you can hire a car to get to Mission Beach 2 hours spectacular drive or catch a bus with Mission Beach Link the day before departure they pick up from the airport to Mission Beach.

  • Fitzroy Island - someone from What'SUP Cairns will meet you at Reef Fleet Terminal for 7.15 am outside the Blue Marlin Cafe
  • Tinaroo - you will be picked up from the hotel

Cancellation Policy

  • A reservation requires a deposit of 25% of the total price.
  • The deposit is non-refundable, if the booking is cancelled.
  • The rest of the payment should be paid 5 days before arrival.
