Join the Weligama Surf Yoga Retreat, for a week of surf and yoga set at a serene colonial villa in the jungle of Sri Lanka. Strenghten and relax your body through daily Hatha and Vinyasa yoga and surf lessons for all levels. Start each day with sunrise yoga, followed by a mid-morning surf lesson, before ending with sunrise yoga. Connect with the beauty and sounds of the jungle during down time at the villa, or explore the nearby towns of Weligama and Mirissa.
On a rest day, guests have the opportunity to experience Sri Lankan culture through our giving it back volunteering program working with a local pre-school in the morning and then a visit to the Galle Fort in the afternoon: a historical landmark built by the Portuguese in 1588.
Airport transfer available: Bandaranaike International Colombo Airport
The Weligama Surf and Yoga Retreat takes place at a beautiful, secluded, and historic home, surrounded by six acres of gardens and lush rain forest. With fresh air, sunshine, and the sounds of the jungle, the villa is the perfect location for connecting with your mind and body.
Located just outside of Weligama, Sri Lanka, the villa is a five-minute 'tuk tuk' ride to the beach, ten minutes to beach-town Mirissa, and twenty minutes along a beautiful coastal road to Galle.
The house has great historical importance locally. To reach it, you must travel down a narrow secluded lane, which begins at a Banyan Tree made famous by the poet Gajaman Nona. Nearby, small 'boutiques' sell daily provisions and delicious local snacks. There is also a vibrant vegetable market every Wednesday and Saturday just a 10-minute scenic walk from the villa.
You'll have a chance to join our volunteering morning, 'giving it back' at a local pre-school followed by an afternoon visit to the Galle Fort: a UNESCO World Heritage Site built by the Portuguese in the 1500s.
Learn to use the spices and flavors of Sri Lankan cuisine through cooking classes with our local chef (available upon request).
With plenty of down time, venture over to Mirissa, Midigama, Madiha, and other nearby beach towns for an afternoon coffee, shopping, or relaxing by the ocean.
