Wavetours surf camp for 18 years old and above in Vieux Boucau has everything you need for a perfect summer; surf, relaxation, party, and heaps of nice people. The camp is situated directly behind the sand dune, so that you are only a breath away from the ocean. The weekly parties at the Mojito Bar that make Vieux Boucau legendary and the finest is of course, the high-quality surf lessons with licensed instructors.
You will feel comfortable in Wavetours' spacious tents for two persons which consist of two sleeping cabins and an anteroom. There is enough space in these frame tents for all your beloved things you need for a perfect holiday. If you need even more privacy, it’s also possible to book a single tent.
Wavetours knows that in a surf camp, the surf course is the most important. Therefore, they have high quality standards and are officially recognized as a surf school from the German Surfing Federation. The surf course consists of five teaching units (each unit lasts for 90 minutes) and will be held for five days. It's also possible to book an upgrade.
In addition, the practical units are complemented by theoretical units in which you learn all about the weather and waves. In the intermediate and advanced courses, the surf instructors will give you useful advice via video analysis for the further development of your surfing style. Since surfing is a natural sport, practice is always dependent on local weather and wave conditions.
In the beginner course, you will have a lot of fun on surf boards. Here you will learn to slide on a broken wave to the beach and deal with the sea and the waves. The goals are to be able to perform safe take-off and green wave start.
If you've already had a surfing lesson before and can ride green, unbroken waves and start at the top point, you are in good hands in Wavetours' intermediate course. The instructors will continue bringing you on your way to an independent surfer. The goals are breaking in green waves and first turns.
During the surf lesson, you get the surf materials from Wavetours for free. These include surf boards (soft boards) and a high quality wetsuit (by Rip Curl and Billabong).
Security is important to Wavetours. All instructors have - in addition to training for instructors - also trained as a beach lifeguard. The additional support by an assistant guarantees optimal student to teacher ratio and a warm-up reduces the risk of injury.
Many years teaching experience of their German and international coaches ensures that the love of the sport is conveyed with enthusiasm on to you. On top of that, they bring years of experience of surf trips around the globe in the surf course.
Wavetours value the quality training of their instructors, so all their instructors have trained as National Instructors (DWV) and International Surfing Association. According to the specifications, in all of their surf lessons there is a supervision ratio of one to eight and even one to four.
Directly located behind the sand dune is their surf camp in Vieux Boucau. Here, you can relax in their chill-area, have a nap in the hammocks, have a drink in the bar tent, or get active with soccer, volleyball, basketball, and indo boards. Just 900 meters away in the center of the city, you will also find a really nice skatepark, lots of cafés, bars, a lake, and surf shops. Vieux Boucau itself is a typical french village with surf city flair. It offers a perfect balance between good surf, party, and relaxation.

Surfing and yoga proves to be a perfect combination. Yoga means 'connection'; connection between body and mind, connection to breath, connection to the present moment, and thus, surfing too is nothing more than a connection, a union between surfers, surfboard, the wave, and the sea. Even surf pros like Kelly Slater supplement their training program successfully with a regular yoga practice.
