Taoufiq
Taoufiq grew up here in Tamraght, Morocco, and knows his place like no other. He started surfing at the age of 12 and ever since his passion is the waves. He is a dancer on his longboard and connected to the sea. For more than five years, he has been teaching surfing on a daily basis. He is on his mission to help others find their own feeling for the board and the water.

Franky came from Germany to Morocco two years ago and instantly fell in love with surfing and the amazing culture. She decided to leave her old life as a fashion designer and became a surfer and free soul. Her destiny is the ocean. She is holding a surf coach certificate (ISA level 1) and is very spirited to teach people the techniques of catching waves.

We really enjoyed our trip to Marocco.
We had a really good experience with the hostel.
The meals all over the day were extraordinary and tasted very good. Meals were all fresh cooked and prepared.
The surfing and yoga experience met all expectations and was well organized.
The hostel manager and all staff were friendly and helpful all over the time. They even organized small surprises like new year eve. Thank you so much.
We would like to come back, since we enjoyed the stay.

Taoufiq is a fantastic host who will make sure everything is facilitated during your stay at Gypsy Surf Camp.
Fatima's kitchen is absolutely delicious for breakfasts and dinners.
We had two different surf instructors, one of them being Tarik Elbassity, who is one of the greatest longboarder in the world.
Terrace view is stunning and yoga lessons post surf are very helpful to recover from intense surfing.
I can only recommend Gypsy Surf Camp.

"Beautiful trip and overall fantastic experience!"
I loved the accommodation, with roof top... beautiful rooms and general vibe of the house. The food was outstanding and the hospitality was amazing. Hassan was not only a patient and kind surf instructor, he was also such a good host at dinner and taking us to the juice bar etc. Toufiq and Hassan were super flexible when it came to our daily plan and helping us arrange trips and airport transfers. I definitely felt like part of a family by the time I left. I also enjoyed Paulina's yoga style and the mix of evening yin style yoga vs morning flow!

"Kleines, warmes und liebevolles Herzstück in Marokko"
Schon kurz nach der Ankunft, kann man sich bei Gypsy Wave nur wohlfühlen. Das ganze Haus ist mit Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet und strahlt eine einzigartige Wärme aus. Jeder einzelne Mitarbeiter sorgt dafür, dass man sich nach einer Woche wie von einer Familie verabschiedet. Zwei riesen Herzstücke sind Khadisha und Fatima - mit Essen der Extraklasse wird man verwöhnt! Sie kümmern sich um die Gäste wie zwei Mamas.
Auch die Surflehrer Tarek und Hassan nehmen sich für all Zeit und sind immer zu Spässen aufgelegt. Es motiviert zu sehen, wie viel Energie und Herzblut sie in das Ganz stecken.
Auch kurz vor Sonnenuntergang wird das Haus wieder mit Sonnenstrahlen gefühlt - Kendra machte das Yoga zur Entspannungsoase nach intensiven Surfeinheiten. Sie nahm das Ganze nicht zu ernst und verbissen und ertrug auch unsere unkontrollierten Lachanfälle. Sie ging auf alle Wehwechen ein und man fühlte sich und den eigenen Körper ernstgenommen.
Einfach ein riesen DANKESCHÖN an alle, die unseren Aufenthalt unvergesslich gemacht haben!

"Amazing experience"
I had no idea what to expect traveling alone and not having surfed before. It was a far better experience than what I could have wished for. Franky, her staff and the other guests really made me feel welcome from day one. The program is very relaxed with a lot of freedom to do as you wish. Very well organized and Franky goes to every length to organize any of your wishes. The surf instructors are fun, easy going and very patient. The ladies who cook do a marvelous job, their friendliness and food is hearth-warming. Yoga class was such an addition to the surfing. Being outdoors the whole day is great and it gives you a good feeling to come home in the evening for yoga and a lovely dinner with friends. Can’t wait to go back!`

Just returning home from my recent stay and already contemplating my return. Everything was wonderful. Franky and Taoufiq were both warm and amazing hosts and have created a really special place. Along with Fatima and Lubnah, who help to look after the Riad, they made the stay faultless. The riad is spacious, beautifully presented, clean and very well located. Food was delicious and plentiful, as was the hospitality. Surfing and yoga instruction was also really great and accommodated for all levels - so if you are a total beginner like me you will feel totally at ease! I left feeling so relaxed that I almost left my bag at the airport on the way home!!!

The food was traditional, authentic and very tasty!
Super clean rooms in a trendy moroccan style!
The yoga studio was clean and had all the equipment you needed back up by the best yoga lessons I’ve ever had!
The surf lessons were great! started off a beginner now I’m way more confident on the board and have learnt a lot in a week!
If you want an authentic holiday with friendly hosts, quality food, great yoga and surf teaching then wave gypsy is for you!

"The perfect start to my trip....hard to leave!"
From the moment I found Wave Gypsy online I knew it was the one for me. Franky was so warm and welcoming in her communication and I was so excited to visit. She took time to meet me on arrival, welcome me and was more then happy to help with anything I needed during the whole trip. Our surf instructor was a total pro and lots of fun too. We all stood and felt the buzz of surfing. Felt very lucky to have him as he was a longboard champ and it was fantastic to see him do his thing in the waves! The yoga teacher was the best I have had and I’ve been practising for 10 years. A very special teacher who understands true essence of yoga and perfect addition to day of surfing. I loved the riad - everyone was so friendly. It’s really been an incredible stay. I also did a hike on one of my days which I really recommend with Tawada Hiking. Thank you Franky and Taoufiq I’ll be back for sure ✨
