You will be accommodated at Rendezvous Surf Camp. The surf camp is a clean and affordable accommodation. The rooms have all the basics and are perfect for those enjoying a Fiji surf holiday. Please note that all rooms have a Wi-Fi connection.
The surf camp is ideal for travelers on a budget and perfect for surfers. The variety of options can suit different travel styles and budgets, with air conditioned rooms, fan rooms, single rooms, as well as shared dorms. There is a restaurant, bar, swimming pool, table tennis, pool table, and much more on-site. On most nights, they have a Kava party after dinner, so come and join the fun!
The surf camp is located 25 minutes out of Nadi town, on the coast overlooking Tavarua and Namotu islands. It is the closest affordable surf accommodation you will find on Nadi mainland. It is also just a short 15-minute boat ride to all of the surf breaks, including the famous Cloudbreak.
The wave itself is a thick grinding left hander, which is surfable on all tides. Cloudbreak is the most consistent wave in the area and can hold small to solid size swells between two to twenty feet. It can offer a day to day variety of perfect, spitting barrels or long playful lines.
There are general sections to the wave, the point or top, the middle, and the inside or Shishkabobs. The first two sections generally are the more forgiving waves, with the final section offering some nice but shallow barrels.
On some days, Cloudbreak can break as one section, starting on a section of reef called the ledge, which is actually the outside of the inside section. Being an open ocean reef break, there is little protection from the wind. However, fortunately, Cloudbreak is offshore, in the predominant Southeast trade winds.
Restaurants is a perfect left-hander facing the South Pacific. Its delicacy means that it only works if the conditions are optimal as the shallow reef is very sensitive to any variation of wind or swell. The best tide is medium to high as this is when the sets are best placed on the reef and the wave reaches its maximum length. Its best height is from four to eight feet, glassy or with light breezes from the East or Southeast.
On the Southeast side of Namotu Island, while tricky to catch going off, is one of the most fun waves in Fiji. A right-hander that has a wide-open face and steep wall that make the perfect playground. Northwest to West winds at mid-high tide work best for this beginner friendly spot. It can even tube when the Southwest swell gets bigger.
This is a world-class left hand reef break that's more forgiving than its fearsome, more famous neighbor Cloudbreak. Around six to 10 feet, Namotu Left can be the thrill of a lifetime, but from two to six foot a short boarder's, longboarder's, or SUPer's paradise. Namotu Left is as legendary in the sailboard and kite surf world as Cloudbreak is in the surfing world.
Tavarua Rights is a rarely surfed right-hander on the back of Tavarua Island. It needs a considerable Southwest swell and northerly winds, which is a tough combination to find in Fiji. When the conditions align with a high tide, however, it is a very high quality set-up for intermediate and above surfers. This wave is super fun.
Wilks is a long right-hander on the opposite side of Wilkes Passage from Namotu Island, world class on its day, which is South-Southwest swell with Northeast-Northwest winds. At one to three feet, Wilks is very accommodating, over three feet, it is recommended for intermediate surfers and above. Wilks Passage can also be a quite fast breaking wave.
The daily meal plan includes continental and light cooked breakfast, lunch, and two-course evening meal. Tea and coffee are also available all day at the bar.
