Fort Bazaar (1 night)

Fort Bazaar is a stunning, boutique, and design hotel nestled inside Galle Fort. It will be your home for one night on the last day with its super comfy beds, great service, and fantastic location.

Please note if you are booking fairly close to the retreat date, then there is no a guarantee for the accommodation at the Fort Bazaar. In this case, you will stay in a hotel nearby with a similar standard.

Talalla Retreat (6 nights)

Talalla is incredibly charming with its pretty bungalows dotted around the hotel grounds with private or aired en suite rooms. It is also nestled on arguably one of the prettiest beaches in Sri Lanka which is perfect for morning or sunset strolls.

You will be given the choice of a ground floor room closed in by wooden shutters and an open air bathroom or first floor rooms where the room is protected by blinds, allowing you to absorb the jungle atmosphere. There is also a very large pool, which is perfect for relaxing around in the day.

A girls trip to Galle

You will end your trip with a night at a luxurious hotel in the stunning UNESCO world heritage site Galle Fort. Packed full of beauty and charm with its colonial architecture, you will have a chance to explore many boutique shops, cafes, and restaurants.

Sri Lanka is renowned for its semi precious gem stones and you will find many talented jewellery designers with shops in the fort selling stunning pieces for very reasonable prices. You will also be able to buy some lovely chemical free creams and lotions from one of the local Ayurvedic skin care companies. After a day of shopping and relaxing, you will enjoy a traditional high tea at the world renowned Amangalle Hotel and end the day with a final group dinner.

SUP yoga

In SUP yoga, you swap your mat for a board and a sweaty studio for a glassy lagoon floor before practicing with the sweet scent of the tropical air and the sound of birds singing around you.

As one of the first SUP yoga teachers in the world, Under The Bodhi Tree Retreats was delighted to find this idyllic spot run by SUP Yoga Sri Lanka where you could take your practice out on the water. This really will be a once in a lifetime experience.

Yoga and surf are both incredible at keeping your mind focused, present, and really complement each other. There is something so incredible about refreshing yourself in the waves and riding a perfect high from that wave you caught.

You do not have to have any experience, although if you are a confident surfer, you feel free to go out the back and catch those glassy green waves. Otherwise you can take a class sticking to the more manageable white water guided by an expert surf instructor so that you can get up on that first wave.

You will start the day with self-inquiry meditation. You will use a variety of techniques to help you practice gratitude and self-love and release whatever blockages standing in your light. You shall then work into feminine flows designed to bring out your beautiful shakti essence.

In general, you will have a morning Vinyasa class and an afternoon Restorative or Slow flow. However, this may vary according to the days activities. You can expect beautiful and creative flows, calming scents, and inspiring music to set the stage for our practice.

Talalla Beach

From day one to day seven, the retreat will be held in Talalla Retreat, located near Talalla Beach. Amongst all of Sri Lanka’s beaches, Talalla Beach surely must be king. The sun rises out of the sea for a fuchsia velvet sky mirrored by crystal waters and a daily scene set to take your breath away.

The water is a minute’s stroll from your villa through tall palm trees and soft grass. The sea in this secluded cove is generally calm for safe swimming when most other southwest beaches are blown out by strong onshore winds.

Galle Fort is located in Galle district, one of the island’s great mini destinations with a wealth of experiences and attractions to enjoy within a relatively small area. Galle Fort is a treasure trove of colonial antiquities where shops and cafes are easily explored on foot, either with an informative local guide or on your own. You will stay here on the last night before leaving this retreat.

You will be served daily breakfast and dinner. A mix of local and western food served as a buffet. All food items are washed with filtered water and the kitchen is incredibly clean.
