The modernly decorated teepee tents are fully equipped with simple yet comfortable sleeping (one double-sized bed and up to one cot / two single beds for children) and living (small furniture and wardrobe) facilities. One teepee tent accommodates up to four people.
The campsite is a large area surrounded by pine trees. It is best suited for families, couples, and 25 or more individuals who are seeking more comfort for themselves on one hand and a pristine nature filling on the other. The campsite is 700 meters away from the sea and about the same distance from the town of Montalivet, a small town with local market, bars, surf shops, and restaurants.
The campsite is equipped with bathrooms, showers, kitchen, volleyball court, and so on. For children, there is a great amusement park nearby the camp, pony riding throughout the camp, bike trips around the town are much fun for everyone that like to be on a go for a new adventure and much more.
Surfing is a water sport, in which surfer or wave rider rides on the forward face of a moving wave, which is usually carrying the surfer toward the shore. Surfing is not only something Ujusansa does for fun or work, it is their way of life and they are here to introduce you to how to live surf life from the inside out.
Their surfing school has two important goals namely performance and personal satisfaction. Their licensed surf coaches will adapt to your level regardless if you are a complete beginner or you already carve the waves (beginner and advanced surf course). Safety is taken very seriously and all the instructors have a valid surf license and lifeguard course. With the surf coaches, you will first learn the surfing’s theory and, most importantly, spend a lot of time in the Atlantic Ocean.
Surfing classes are shaped differently for children and parents but share the same mission - learn how to move on a surfboard. The lessons are delivered by the best surf coaches. They will present surfing, waves, and the ocean to you and your children. You will learn everything about equipment, water movement, standing on a surfboard, and power of the ocean. Once you catch your first wave, you are hooked for life. Family surfing builds togetherness as you learn to ride the surf together. Children can start learning to surf as early as seven years old provided they already know how to swim.
For all children that are under seven years, Ujusansa organizes a surf kinder garden, so parents have a peace of mind while surfing, enjoying easy beach life, having a glass of a great Bordeaux wine, practicing yoga, going for a run or just having some simple spare time for themselves. Ujusansa sets the kinder garden schedule and tailors it to the group needs on the first day when you come to the camp.
Ujusansa has a wide range of surfboards to choose from, so they can find the right one for you and your youngsters. The wetsuit and surfboard are yours to use all through your stay at the camp.
Ujusansa does yoga too. Everybody is welcome to a free one yoga lesson and if you like it, then you can choose from their yoga classes. They offer daily yoga classes (morning or evening - depending on the surf classes), which are tailored-made for all those who are experiencing muscle tensions and feel stiffness in the area of the spine. You will focus on controlling the breath and understanding how body balance is established. Yoga practice is a Vinyasa flow practice - an active yet relaxing practice. Ujusansa believes yoga practice is crucial for a better surfing performance.
Longboarding is a sport with growing popularity. Cruise by the ocean and feel the breeze. Longboards and surfboards go hand in hand.
On summer evenings, you will enjoy watching movies. Sit back and cozy up to your favorite surf movie on sofas or under the stars, without overpriced snacks and admission fees.
Unforgettable in-house parties will be held after sunset surf sessions. Parties are part of a surfing lifestyle. Ujusansa is a big fan of spontaneous afternoon parties around the place, but never organizes heavy parties, as they prefer a laid-back and peaceful atmosphere.
Bonding with your friends, family or your partners on a summer evening by the fire is always a special experience. Grilling some fish and veggies, have a beer or two or talking about today's surfing adventures.
Hilarious karaoke party after barbecue (and way too much sangria) should definitely be on your bucket list. It is a great way to bond with your surf family.
Vendays-Montalivet is a coastal town of Gironde, in Nouvelle-Aquitaine region. The long sandy beaches of Montalivet are amazing whether you are surfing or just enjoying the summer days on the beach. Located in the tip of the Médoc, bordered by the ocean to the west and the mouth of the Gironde to the east, the town is 80 kilometers from Bordeaux and enjoys a privileged environment on the Silver Coast, with 12 kilometers of beaches on the Atlantic, on the edge of the forest.
With a population of nearly 2,500 permanent inhabitants (but more than 30,000 in summer), the small town includes a village, inland, and a seaside resort on the coast, Montalivet-les-Bains. Great public transportations offer connections to several touristic hotspots in the region. Foodies and wine enthusiasts will enjoy heavenly food in the whole region of Médoc and especially Bordeaux - the capital of wine.
Vendays-Montalivet was first surrounded by swamps which were drained, then became a fief of the seigniory of Lesparre after the Hundred Years' War. Its development takes shape during the second half of the 19th century with the vogue of the sea baths that facilitate the arrival of the train. However, economic activity also remains based on the exploitation of the Landes forest. The seaside resort developed even more after the Second World War when Centre Hélio-Marin was created which quickly became a naturist resort of international renown.
