During this surf camp, you will be staying in a private tent. Great parties always happen in Tribu Surf Camp, Peniche. It is a big camp with colorful tents. Camp sand awaits you along with adventure written in the stars, waves, and summer romance. The camp is one of a kind as it is visited by surfers form all over the world.
Tribu base is known as the magnet for everyone who walks by. You should prepare to make new great relationships and see funny things passing by your tent. The surf camp has all facilities such as clean toilets, showers, piped potable water, and utility hookups for electricity, used by the Surf Tribu favela. However, you are advised to bring your sleeping bag with you.
During this surf holiday, you will get to know yourself on the waves, hang out with surfers all around the world, and party a lot! Tribu Camp in Portugal is the real party place indeed. The Tribu Surf team is some kind of combination of joy, freestyle, relax, adrenaline, fun, party mixed with proficiency of surf instructors. These ingredients will make your surf holidays memorable for your lifetime.
In this surf camp, you will surf every day throughout the week except for Sunday. On Sunday, you are free to explore the beauty of Portugal. There are also many surf spots that you can go to such as Supertubos, Molho Leste, Consolacao, Batela (Porto Batel), Praia do Baleal, Lagide, Red Rocks, and Figuera de Foz.
Every afternoon, when your body is pleasantly tired, you will continue your day with Tribu yoga teacher Rok Vrhnjak who will guide you through relaxing surf and yoga program that is meant to help you to find balance, which is needed for surfing. The exercises are organized in a way to help you faster progressing from the white water to the barrels.
During the off day, Tribu Surf team will also take the time to buy food and drinks to put in the big fridges which are usually filled with beer and stakes. There is a local store nearby, so you can either go with Tribu Surf van or by bike. For those of you who likes uncrowded waves and pleasant temperatures, the low season is the right time for you to come.
Tribu Surf instructors will divide the course participants to beginners, intermediates, and advanced. Trainees who show faster improvements will hop up to higher level which is from the white water to barrels! The groups are small, so everyone will get full attention from the certified professional instructors. All equipment are for free to use for 24 hours daily. Tribu photographers will provide you with photo or video material and all mistakes will be analyzed with Tribu surf instructors and corrected immediately.
The beginning is always the most fun. Especially since you will usually imagine things differently to the actual reality. At the beginning of the surf lessons, you will learn about the theory of surfing, safety, weather, and wave conditions. After this, you will have surfing lessons in the ocean. After spending several hours in the water, you will learn more on theory and repeat what you have already learned.
Surf lessons will usually take place on the Baleal Beach with English instructions. Once you get comfortable with the power of the ocean, Tribu Surf will record some of your best waves, which will be explained in detail during the surf analysis. So, you can be sure that you will know everything you need to know to make your surfing progress swift and pleasurable.
The lessons will take place in the morning, three days in a row, followed by a day of rest day where you can go shopping or take some trips followed by another two days of lessons. For those who spend more than seven days, the order for rest day and lesson days will be agreed upon with Tribu staff.
This is where you will change your surfing path from surfing the first steps on to the soft-surfboards. From surfing the white-water to being a pro at riding barrels and massive aerials which is long and tough. Tribu Surf will make sure that this path is effective, pleasurable, and unforgettable. Tribu Surf School also offers many different surfboards such as short boards, minimalibus, and soft-surfboards.
If you are an experienced surfer, the program is a bit different. The programs will be decided daily on which surf spot you will surf on. You will also be provided with a photographer for your sessions and also a professional video analysis for your unlimited progress.
The price packages shown in this surf and yoga holiday includes daily breakfasts, packed lunch, and dinner. There are also other packages from you to choose from which are a package that serves daily breakfast and dinner only which costs 327 EUR, a package that serves daily breakfast only which costs 291 EUR, and a package without any meals which costs 259 EUR. Tribu Surf Camp is located between the spines next to Peniche and AutoCamp Parque, the Municipio de Peniche, that is five-minute away from the waves of Atlantic Sea and 15 minutes from the hottest party places on the beach of Peniche.
You will barely meet a surfer who has not been to Peniche yet. There are more than 30 different surf breaks, due to its perfect location on the headland, surrounded by the sea and strong tides. The old town center of Peniche speaks for its long history and fishing culture. It was built for protection against invasions from the sea and later on, it was turned into well-protected political prison.
The open sea has always been an important source of life for inhabitants. It provides with food and enables great culinary. Outdoors enthusiasts will love the beaches where every rentals for water sport under the sun are available.
During this surf camp, you will be served with breakfast, lunch pack, and dinner. In Portugal, the prices for coffee is 0.60 EUR, small beer starts from 1 EUR, menu in the restaurants is 4 to 5 EUR whereas the food prices in supermarkets are comparable with other countries in western Europe.
During your free time, you can go on daily trips to these multiple places to further enrich your Portuguese experience. You can choose to do any activities provided following your interest with an additional price of 15 EUR on wards. Other than that, you can also enjoy fun gatherings with Tribu Surf House team, clubbing, picnics, barbecue nights, go-kart which is nearby, slackline, and go on a nearby skate park.
The city of youth, old, but picturesque and lively. When the sun goes down, the party starts. Numerous bars and night clubs open and students come out to the streets. Before the party starts, it is possible to see the biggest oceanarium in Europe which has two fish and a turtle bigger than the one in Barcelona.
Other amazing attractions are also the zoo, historical Belem, beautiful Jeronimos Monastery, Rossio Square, many museums and galleries, shopping centers, and more. While walking through the city, you may pass by narrow streets with stunning architecture and graffiti.
It is an old fishing town with serious reef breaks! That is why surfing has been an important part of its history. The whole Portugal is well-known for its great surfboard shapers or otherwise known as surf designers. In Ericeira, Tribu team will visit one of the famous surf factory and take a look at the process of making surf boards, from the beginning to the final product. Who knows, you may get an inspiration to make one yourself at home.
Sintra is an ancient town on a hill surrounded by a mighty fortress around castles and villas where previous kings lived. It used to be the capitol of Portugal. After the tour, you can head down towards a country house by one of the last moguls of the 18th century. After that, you can also head to the end of the world, to the most western point of Europe, Cabo da Roca.
A mighty view form high cliffs overlooking the ocean will take you back to the times of Christopher Columbus and his peers who wondered what could there be on the other side of the sea. After the breeze, fish feast awaits you in the extravagant Cascais. A caipirinha or two can be arranged as well as a visit to the infamous Bairro Alto in Lisbon.
For those who are romantics, the medieval town Obidos is a must-see! The small town is located on a hill, from where you can see the whole landscape. Since 1527, the town has been surrounded by a wall and well-preserved till today. The romantic atmosphere is good market scene for local people, who organize a lot of events with medieval feel.
Nowadays, the town Obidos is well known as an "it" place to get married. The visit to the town of Obidos will stay in your memory for sure because of the delicious chocolate and cherry, served in chocolate cups. Yummy!
