Day 1: Friday - Arrival

Arrive in Marrakech by 4:00 p.m. and be transported to your riad-style accommodations complete with vibrant mosaics and atrium gardens. Rest up, meet your roommate, and join for your welcome dinner to meet your guides for the week. Gigi will close out your evening with a grounding post-travel flow and meditation.

Day 2: Saturday - Welcome to Marrakech

After an energizing morning flow and breakfast, you will start your explorations of Marrakech’s vibrant souks (markets) and see some of the city’s landmark sites including the Moorish Medersa ben Youssef, the opulent Bahia Palace and the picturesque Jewish Quarter. You’ll see the infamous Jemaa el Fna and have time in the afternoon for your own explorations before evening dinner and yoga.

Day 3: Sunday - Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou

After yoga and breakfast you will hit the road early for your Sahara Desert excursion. You will arrive at the striking Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage listed city that once had a prominent position in the trans-Saharan trade route. You’ll have the whole afternoon for exploring its shops, cafes, and walking streets. You will stay just outside the village in the evening where you will enjoy a grounding flow with Gigi and a spectacular Moroccan dinner.

Day 4: Monday - Sahara Desert excursion

After yoga and breakfast, you will hop back in the van for your next destination across the Atlas Mountains. You will arrive at the dunes around mid-day (with plenty of stops for photos & food!) and will ride camels the rest of the way in to your Berber camp. After settling in, you will stretch out with yoga before a delicious desert meal and campfire against a backdrop of stars and traditional Moroccan music.

Day 5: Tuesday - Sahara Desert

After sunrise yoga and breakfast, the day is yours to choose your desert adventure! Stay at camp for rest and rehabilitation or get out and hike or dune surf. Or, you can join for your group trek to an oasis where you will learn to make a meal in a sand oven! You will reconvene in the evening for yoga, dinner, and another night of music under the stars.

Day 6: Wednesday - Berber textile co-operative

After yoga and breakfast, you will say goodbye to your desert camp and hop back on camels to your vehicles. From there, you will head to Traverse Journeys community partner, a women’s textile co-op where you will learn about crafting traditions that these groups work so hard to preserve while boosting the livelihoods of women throughout the country. After lunch, you will make your way back to Marrakech where Gigi will guide you in an evening grounding yoga before dinner.

Day 7: Thursday - Marrakech

You will follow yoga and breakfast today with a special visit to a hammam, or spa, where you’ll soak in the baths and receive a scrub treatment and have options for massage. The rest of the day is yours for shopping and exploring before evening yoga and your farewell to Marrakech dinner.

Day 8: Friday - To Taghazout

Gigi will offer extra early yoga this morning before your transfer in the morning to the beach, where your surfing will begin! Upon arrival you’ll meet your local surf instructors and will have time to check out the beach. Enjoy a fresh, healthy dinner in the evening.
