Condition and waves

Portugal’s spring and autumn bring prime surfing conditions with clean waves, low wind, and quiet beaches. Tiny Whale is perfectly located to take advantage of swell from the Gulf of Cádiz on the south coast and from the North Atlantic Ocean on the west. Inês will monitor the conditions with you each day aiming for the clean, waist to chest high waves and making sure you experience the best waves possible on your course.

This surf camp will take place at the Tiny Whale Surf Lodge in Lagos, Algarve, which is situated in a unique peaceful countryside near Lagos Town, Portugal. The Algarve is slowly being recognized as one of the world's top five SUP destinations. Boasting two unbeatable coastlines, plus a variety of lakes, rivers, and lagoons, there's something to please everyone. Jaw dropping flatwater paddling locations, perfect teaching conditions, and world-class surf make this an unforgettable trip.

Bursting with the sunshine and known for its laid-back lifestyle, the Western Algarve is the perfect holiday destination to unwind and recharge with some deserved rest and recuperation. Whether you achieve this by exploring the fantastic culture and unspoiled countryside, chilling out and catching some waves at some of Europe's most stunning beaches, or want to find adventure taking part in the endless outdoor activities on offer, the choice is yours.

Well away from the mainstream Eastern Algarve international tour operators, the West has largely stayed underdeveloped and still retains its natural charm. Traveling just half an hour from either the south or west coast up through the countryside to the Monchique mountain at 1000 meters, the whole area is speckled with small villages and towns with one foot in past.
