This surf camp will take place in Sargacal, Portugal. Tiny Whale Surf Lodge is set in the beautiful countryside offering a tranquil escape in nature, located only five minutes' drive away from Lagos, voted as the world's best holiday destination in 2014.
Bursting with the sunshine and known for its laid-back lifestyle, Western Algarve is the perfect holiday destination to unwind and recharge with some deserved rest and recuperation. Whether you want to explore the fantastic culture and unspoiled countryside, chill out and catch some waves at some of Europe's most stunning beaches, or want to find adventure taking part in the endless outdoor activities on offer, the choice is yours.
Away from the mainstream Eastern Algarve's international tour operators, Western Algarve has largely stayed underdeveloped and still retains its natural charm. Traveling just half an hour from either the south or west coast up through the countryside to the Monchique Mountain at 1,000 meters, the whole area is speckled with small villages and towns. You can find traditional coffee shops, bakers, fresh produce from local producers, and artisan craftsmen all selling their wares. Do not miss out on the local cuisine of this area, either with a cataplana (fresh fish stew), barbecued sardines, and a Pastilla de Nata for dessert.
Tiny Whale’s professional in-house chef prepares home cooked food predominantly from fresh local produce. His delicious meals cover breakfast, surf lunches, and two-course dinners in the evenings. All diets can be catered for with prior arrangement. When you need to unwind, they also have an outdoor bar open in the evening with snacks and drinks.
You will have a variety of options for breakfast including fresh seasonal fruits, yogurt, homemade bircher muesli, and freshly-baked bread with a selection of toppings. You can also make your own vegan oat pancakes or waffles. For lunch, a selection of simple plates is available at the lodge such as toasties, salads, fresh fruit, sandwiches, crisps, and cookies. Beach picnics are prepared and packed for surf days.
You will also be served two-course dinners with local wine. For the main course, you can enjoy tuna steak with salsa verde, goat cheese salad, or Moroccan chicken tagine. You can also enjoy crumble with ice cream or chocolate fondue with fresh fruit for dessert.
