The lodge and surf school are situated in the main street and 100 meters from the beach of Praia da Tocha. There are a couple of nice bars, a few restaurants, a market, 2 supermarkets, 2 ATM machines, all within walking distance from our place.
Apart from that, they offer:
- Accommodation in a comfortable lodge, in dorms or private double rooms

They also organize BBQs and dinner nights with local products. The crew speaks English, Dutch, Portuguese, Spanish, basic german.
Traveling with your family? No problem. Praia da Tocha is very safe for kids and doesn't have a lot of traffic, in their main street, there are no cars allowed. Their place is family proof and suitable for a family surf holiday. They have 2 larger rooms where parents can sleep with their kids and a baby crib can be booked upon request. Program
There isn't a fixed daily program. Surf lessons and guided surf trips will take place depending on the surf conditions. Each day the instructors will evaluate the surf conditions and choose the best days and hours to go surfing. In this way, they can give you the best surf experience possible.
In case the waves are not suitable to surf or do surf lessons at their home spot, they will choose another suitable beach and in the meantime show you the beautiful surroundings of what their region has to offer. In case you choose to do a surf guiding package (intermediates and advanced), they make sure to find the best suitable surf spot for your surf level and give you an unforgettable experience.
Instructors
Brian Wirtz
Brian is the head surf coach and the owner. He also has a post-graduation degree in surf and performance (Level 1 and 2) and he is the perfect person to help you improve your surf skills. Besides his passion for surfing, he is an entertainer and loves to cook, play guitar, and tell funny stories and jokes.
Location
Ticket2Surf can be described as a surf lodge or surf camp located in Praia da Tocha, Portugal. Praia da Tocha is an authentic small coastal town hidden in the forests of the Beira Litoral region, between Porto, Coimbra, and Lisbon.
The Surf House is situated in the main street and it is about 100 meters from the beach of Praia da Tocha. There are a couple of nice bars, a few restaurants, a market, 2 supermarkets, 2 ATM machines, all within walking distance from the place.
The closest surf spot from our guesthouse is our home break and is only 100 meters away. This beach break, for all surf levels, starts to work with less than 3 ft (1 meter) swell, and is the place to be! If it´s flat here, it´s flat everywhere! The rest of the surf spots of the Beira Litoral coast are a variety of world-class beaches, reefs, and point breaks.
Praia da Tocha is located in the Beira Litoral region, which is part of the famous Silver Coast. It has this name because of the silver shinning reflex of the sun on the ocean. As implicit in the name, this beautiful area of mellow temperatures, white sandy beaches, and amazing landscapes is considered one of the most beautiful places on the planet.
The famous student city of Coimbra, our region's capital, has one of the oldest universities in Europe and is only half an hour's drive away from our place.
With such a variety of good surf spots and just a small number of surfers, this area is Portugal’s hidden jewel!
Food
At least once a week, Ticket2Surf organizes a BBQ or dinner night (vegetarian and vegan options), with local products for an affordable price. There are also a couple of restaurants in town that offer traditional Portuguese dishes with, meat, fish, and vegan/vegetarian options.
Down the street, there are several bakeries and supermarkets to provide you with groceries. There are a couple of bars and coffee places to get yourself a nice drink or a cup of coffee with a nice view.
