During this retreat, you will stay at the surf lodge Punta de Lobos. Surf Lodge Punta de Lobos is situated on the hill above Punta de Lobos, overlooking one of the most famous and consistent surf breaks in South America. The lodge is nestled amongst thick forest, and is a perfect place to relax after a big day in the water. We have several lodges (single, double, triple and quadruple) that include breakfast and have a view of the point. Otherwise there is cabaas (bungalows) for 2 to 10 people if you're in a bigger group, or want a more self-contained experience. The cabaas have a fully equipped kitchen, wood burner, and all linen and towels that you may need. All rates include free use of the new spa, which has a hot tub, Jacuzzi, sauna, and pool.
One of the most famous and consistent waves in South America located close to our location; the lodge in Punta de Lobos at about 1.5 kilometers. As with most breaks in this area, the sand moves constantly so you'll almost never have two sessions the same. A rarity in surfing is that this break is surfable from 2 to 25 feet and bigger, but don't worry if you're not quite ready for the big stuff, most of the time it is a very friendly size and an enjoyable wave. Heading into town there are two more breaks, Infiernillo and La Puntilla. They are both world class waves when the sand is good, and are only slightly less exposed to swell than Lobos. Infiernillo is for a more advanced level, and there you'll find less people in the water too. La Puntilla can be very good, and is also very long, so be prepared for leg breaking rides when it's on.
Barry only started learning surfing when he was 30 years old in Sydney. He is 41 years old now and would consider himself an advanced long boarder able to side step, hang 5, but still struggling to hang 10. Surfing has brought him all over the world and one of his favourite spots is the Maldives, where the waves are so predictable, which he loves. He is now living in Cornwall and has lived in Australia from 2004 to 2012, then Hossegor, France from 2012 to 2015.
Suzi is the director of The Perfect Wave Europe. After having surfed, worked & travelled around the world for the past 20 years, she has found the perfect job!
Also, known as Larsenhausen, Lars live with his family in the Canaries and he has always been a true surf travelling family. Now his daughter is in school, so they only get to travel once or twice a year for a couple of weeks at a time. The rest of the year, he loves organising trips for surfers of all levels and selling the dream, which he used to live himself. One of the best feelings, is to enjoy a great session with friends in the water, and also get amazing feedback from stoked surf travellers returning from a trip of a lifetime.
