The Maverick Surfvillas is the perfect choice for active people (surfers and no-surfers) who like fun, the beach, nature, the sea, and most of all, a good and socializing atmosphere. The houses have a lively, warm, and welcoming feel and are appropriate for all: solo travelers, couples, and groups. The villas share one large beautiful garden, the perfect playground for young and grown-ups alike.
Spend your days enjoying the infinity swimming pool, beach volleyball, yoga shala, slack-line, boules, basketball, and our chill-out winter garden. The house offers spacious communal areas which allow you to mix with other guests. On the various terraces and balconies, you will surely find a spot all day to enjoy the sun or watch the sunset in the evening. The villa kitchens, barbecue, and pizza oven are free to use for everyone to prepare their own meals. There are several good restaurants in the area that they are happy to recommend to you.
For those that like to combine their stay with work, there is a spacious indoor co-working space available in the winter months as well as an airy-covered Wintergarden perfect for working in the warmer months. The Maverick is located close to Portugal's best surf spots for all levels from beginners to advanced surfers. There are many beaches within 10 to 15 minutes of driving distance to choose from whether you are surfing, beach walking, or sunbathing. The Maverick has a beautiful yoga shala where your yoga practice can be a unique experience. Its outside gym is also perfect for any gym enthusiasts or guests who want to maintain their fitness during their stay.
Program
You will enjoy elevating your surf practice during your classes and also take off on adventures from the activities available at the Maverick or exploring the beautiful surroundings. The surf classes will take place at the in-house surf school. The surf instructor will take you to the class at the beach. While the standard group size at surf schools is usually more than eight students per instructor, at the Maverick, there is a low student-to-instructor ratio, five to one, to ensure that you will receive the attention you need to improve your surfing quickly.
The licensed surf instructors are passionate about what they are doing and their goal is to offer you the best surf experience possible. It is all about fun, however, safety will be a top priority. The program welcomes all surfers from beginners to more advanced surfers. Respect the schedules of the classes. The Maverick does not provide any exceptions to the regular surf class schedule. Let the staff know the day before if you are planning to take a rest day during your surf course. If you are expected for surf classes and you do not show up, the Maverick will make no refund.
Students are strictly required to follow the instructions of their teacher. Always keep to the safety rules. In the case of injury, inform your teacher without any delay. The Maverick is not responsible and will not reimburse a student if surf classes cannot occur due to adverse weather and ocean conditions (e.g. flat ocean, excessive wave size, fog, strong winds, etc). Nevertheless, in these rare cases, the Maverick will make an alternative plan, for example, a theoretical class, surf-related trip, etc. The class is also limited to five students for each class per surf instructor.
Itinerary
The surf package includes 20 hours of surf coaching in small groups for all levels on five days (five days x two sessions x two hours per session). You can choose the days freely during your stay, which gives you the option to take a day of rest, visit Lisbon, or enjoy one of the other activities available at the Maverick. It is encouraged that you include a rest day after the first two days of surfing.

Surfing and yoga are the prime activities in the region due to the great conditions. However, the area boasts options for all kinds of activities like horse riding, mountain biking, scuba diving, sailing, canoeing, kite surfing, water and jet skiing, boat trips, golf, tennis, rock climbing, and picturesque walks. You can also book a one-hour relaxing massage during your stay with The Maverick. The Silver Coast (Costa da Prata) is rich in history and nature and famous for its wines, gastronomy, beaches, golf, and thermal tourism.
And of course, the beautiful and culture-rich city of Lisbon is a perfect destination for a day trip or a weekend at the end of your holiday. The Maverick is located in the countryside quietness, 10 minutes from the nearest beach. A small village with cafes and restaurants is within walking distance. It's great to relax, go for walks, run, or take a ride on the bike. The next beach is Praia da Areia Branca, a small summer beach town with lots of cafés, bars, and restaurants.

Please book your flight to arrive at Lisbon International Airport (LIS). The Maverick offers transfer from and to Lisbon International Airport (LIS) by airport shuttle. Airport pick-up is 80 EUR one way per one person and 100 EUR for two people.
Arrival by taxi
Take a taxi or Uber to Campo Grande main bus station (the taxi fare will cost around 10 EUR and it will take around 15 minutes). From Campo Grande, take the Tejo Rapida Azul with the direction of Peniche and get off in Lourinha. Alternatively, you can take the Rede Express from Sete Rios bus station. Both bus stations can also be reached by Metro. Please take note free pick-up from the bus terminal in Lourinhã is available. A car or scooter is definitely recommended. There is a local car rental company also offering scooters. The Maverick can help you to arrange this. Free parking is available at the Maverick.
