Coming to Morocco is an adventure in itself and there at Taghazout Bay Appartements, they aim to give you the best of both worlds, meaning comfort and security along with suggestions on how best to discover this beautiful part of the world. They have four well-equipped apartments that have recently been restored and updated with homely decoration using local artisans and rich Moroccan colors.

Albatross is perched on the edge of hash point with spectacular 350 degrees views up and down the coast and over to the breathtaking mountains behind. This penthouse is very special and has its own private roof garden with sun-beds for lounging, night lights, and a beautiful zellige table for dining al fresco.

The apartment has a living-room with round multi-colored zelliges dining table over-looking the beach and the sea. Two comfortable sofas form an L-shape with coffee tables. The kitchen is extremely well-equipped with a dishwasher as well as a washing machine, toaster, kettle, microwave, a great electric oven with fan, timer, and gas hob.

From both the kitchen and the sitting-room, there are large French-windows opening onto the terrace. This is a beautiful sunny spot with large palms, a table, and chairs. There are two double bedrooms. The beautifully shaped bathroom has a shower, basin, toilet, and is decorated with tadelakt. Stylish zelliges stairs lead up to the top garden terrace where there is a second wet-room with shower, toilet, and washbasin decorated in tadelakt. You will need to be cat lovers here as both Tiffytoo and Joseph reside with love and tenderness.

Bougainvillea is a fabulous apartment overlooking the main beach of Taghazout with views up and down the coast, perfect for wave and dolphin spotting. Originally a fisherman’s cottage, every effort has been made to retain the traditional Moroccan feeling with tasteful decoration throughout. There is a very well-equipped kitchen which leads off to the small private terrace where you can sunbathe, read a book, or dine out.

There are two double bedrooms, one en-suite, and one where you can chose to have either a large double bed or two singles. There is shelving and hanging space for your clothes with a nice view down to the street and sea. The bathrooms are water-rooms decorated with the Marrakesh tadelakt, shower, basin, and toilet. The sitting room is light and spacious with a zelliges table by the sliding windows, overlooking the ocean. Enjoy the views or relax on the traditional canape with woven cushions.

El baraka

The apartment el baraka is on the second floor and has been tastefully decorated, offering an exceptionally well-equipped kitchen to give you an easy and comfortable self-catering holiday. The dining area has windows that fold completely back so that you are straight onto the balcony over-looking the sea. The sitting-room has huge sliding windows with views directly over the sandy beach with its traditional blue painted fishing boats. You can even sun-bathe from the privacy of your own home.

The apartment is lucky to have a double fronted southerly aspect spanning seven meters which makes it so exceptional in Taghazout. There are two bedrooms, one with a double bed and an en-suite shower-room with toilet, basin made with local marble, and a storage cupboard beneath. The second room has twin beds and a large wardrobe.

Both bedrooms have windows over-looking the narrow street below and have views to the sea. There is a second shower room off the entrance hall with toilet, basin made with local marble, and a storage cupboard underneath. The special tadelakt finish from Marrakesh has been used in both bathrooms and there are beautiful Moroccan tiles and traditional decoration throughout the property.

The whole apartment is spacious and light with an artisanal zelliges table for eating round and a separate Moroccan style sitting area with an L-shaped canape with plenty of comfortable cushions and a marble coffee table.

This newly renovated first floor apartment sleeps up to six people and has been tastefully decorated in Moroccan style with easy vehicle access and a well-equipped kitchen to give you a comfortable self-catering holiday. You will find a washing machine, micro-wave oven, kettle, television with English film channels and DVD player, and a gas hob with electric oven.

Taghazout Bay Appartements provides surf coaching for those that want to learn how to step onto the water, surfers that want to improve in order to start having more speed when racing with the green waves, or advanced surfers that want to be able to surf more vertically. All the lessons are provided on one of the best playgrounds in the world for all levels, the Moroccan waves. Lessons are divided into groups of different levels.

On your surf holiday, they will ensure that you learn to surf from the best qualified, most experienced, and respected surf instructors in Morocco. The surf coaches are all trained in Academy of Surf Instructors (ASI) and the British Surf Association (BSA) and from Morocco. There are very strict rules about how many people they will take to a point break.

Taghazout Bay Appartements are not interested in dumping 40 people on one spot and watching all of the locals get disgruntled as their surf session is ruined. They would prefer to break the groups up and help you learn to surf under the close guidance of your group's surf instructor. Groups are limited to eight guests per one surf coach, so you can be sure of some fantastic instruction.

Included excursions

A visit to the market in Agadir is included in this package.

The picturesque village of Taghazout rests on the edge of the Atlantic at just fifteen kilometers north of Agadir with the foothills of the High Atlas rising up behind. There, you can enjoy the sun all the year round. On arrival in the village, you will see the mosque to your right and the main square to your left. The old village consists of fisherman’s houses painted in traditional pink and white which spill down to the sea.

Wander down through the winding streets of this charming village and here you will find Taghazout Bay Appartements, housing very special apartments. This many surf sports surrounding the area are:

Agadir bay

This surf spot in Morocco has long beach break and there are different spots that share the same breaks left and rights. This spot just needs a swell of one and a half to two meters, any more than this will cause the waves to close out.

Anchor point

Anchor point is the famous point break in Morocco and it's called anchor point because in the past, the land was occupied by an anchor factory where they made many anchors for the nearby ships and boats and the spot still carries the name to this day. It is a right-hander wave, extremely fast and hollow. It works very well in low tide and when the tide goes out, it creates a very long wave and in this wave, you can expect to see it reach four and a half meters before breaking.

This spot has an awesome wave for the left and right hander. They work in low tide and high tide, but just in a swell of one and half meters. The off shore wind from the south is bad for this spot.

Banana point

Banana point is a point break and the wave is a right hander. This spot works in low tide and when the tide goes out, it is a very long wave and the wave starts to break at this spot from a swell of 1.9 to two and a half meters. When the wave reaches more than two and a half meters, the wave just closes out.

If it's waves that you want, you certainly get them here. Wind that funnels from the mountains offers large vertical lips and speed walls and this powerful right hander washes onto a strong shallow reef.

If not with the surf instructors, this is a lot easier if you have a buddy ready to tell you when to rock off behind the ship wreck, looking on from the shore. Get ready to scamper across the reef on your way out before the next set hits. It is often visited by professional photographers for the intensity of pictures available.

Desert point

Desert point is a point break right hander that needs a swell of two meter and no wind, except on shore wind, then you get a long right hander that is a mellow, but heavy wave.

It's called dracula because the shape of the rocks is like vampire teeth. This wave is a fast right hander that pushes some punchy and often large sets.

Km11 and km12

These are two spots with the same break and are lefts. They work in low tide and high tide, but it’s very good when the tide starts to go out and the waves become extremely hollow and fast.

Killers point

Killers point gets its name because sometimes if you are lucky, you can find killer whales playing there and jumping in the ocean. They eat what they can find around the rocks. This spot works when there is a swell of two meters. Here, you will find hard sets coming from the right.

If you paddle out to the left side for around 1,000 meters, you are going to find a hollow left that is just so fast and shallow. Everyone, and especially the professionals from around the world, including Kelly Slater, have enjoyed this wave. Guaranteed, you will have an adrenaline filled experience.

This ultra consistent beach break is the place to go when Taghazout is flat. Quick back sections pay privilege to an even more constant beach push, strong currents at times, but a fun ride all the same. For beginners, just be aware how far you have drifted down the coast. The lush estuary is home to camels and flamingos, a truly wonderful spot.
