All surf coaches are from Morocco and trained through the Academy of Surfing Instructors and the British Surfing Association (Surfing Great Britain Level 2). No other surf camp in Taghazout, or the whole of Morocco, can boast that. The company has very strict rules on how many people will be taken to a point break at a time. Surf groups are also limited to eight guests per coach so you can be sure of some fantastic instruction.
To help you get the hang of surfing and experience the inexplicable joy that waves can bring, these introductory lessons will cover beach awareness and safety, and paddling and standing up techniques. These lessons will always take place on Morocco’s beautiful sandy beaches, and your surf coaches will pick locations that will enable you to learn in the best conditions possible.
Conquering the next level, you will learn about surf safety and etiquette, positioning in the surf, wave selection, paddling, timing, and take-off. This retreat will take place in the fishing village of Tamraght in Morocco, near another port named Taghazout. The accommodation lies in south Morocco, just north of the city of Agadir and its airport. The location of Tamraght is exposed to the warm air coming from the Sahara and the coastline is perfect to capture the great Atlantic swells.
Tamraght is one of the only spots worldwide that is consistent all year long, with solid surf in autumn, winter, and spring, which is a common occurrence, and small, fun surf in the summer months. It is also said that this area of Morocco receives 360 days of sunshine a year. The country's eating out and shopping destinations offer some great alternative itineraries.
