Surf Camp Surfivor in Porto is simply great! First of all, they have an excellent surf instructor Bruno Rodriguez (ex-surfer of the national Portuguese team). We surf as long as we wanted and all equipment was good. The hostal was nice, next to the ocean, 20min walking to the surfing point, however we were always transported with a van till there. The employees of the hostel were very kind. I spend a lovely time with the group of 18 people, some of them were visiting not for the first time. So, we were like a family. Even the unstable weather conditions in February, we had so much fun over there. Price-quality relationship for the low season, absolutely correct! Surfivor Camp is for real persons, is a real experience, even can make you forget that you are in Porto city. Locals going to work and you walking on the street with bare foot looking for beer after the waves washed your brain, and nothing else matters! :). I will sure go back again some day!

I stayed at the surf hostel for an entire month actually because I wanted to get better at surfing and with one of the best beginner/intermediate beaches in the world a short van ride (or even a twenty minute walk) away, my surfing drastically improved. But not without the help of an incredible surf coaching staff who sometimes seemed to care more about my surfing than I did (which is a lot). Everyone at the hostel is genuine and will do everything they can to make sure you enjoy your stay in the magical and beautiful Porto. The hostel itself is clean, and cool in the summertime. There is lots of space and a good atmosphere thanks to the pretty, antique furniture. I can't wait to bring my family back one day. I had planned on traveling around the country but I ended up staying in Porto the entire time because I was so happy there.

We had a really great experience dropping by Surfivorcamp in Esmoriz. While we were only there for one day, it's easy to see what a great experience it would be to stay for a week. The staff were all super friendly, great relaxed atmosphere amongst everyone. It was our first time surfing and we were very impressed with the quality of the equipment and the level of instruction we received from the staff. It's clear that they put a lot of thought into choosing the right conditions and location for their daily surf lesson. We were divided into groups based on level of experience and given brightly colored vests to wear over our wet suits indicating which group we belonged to. I was very happy to feel that we received lots of individual attention and instruction geared to our level. It was especially nice to have our stretch of the beach to our group. A great experience all round, can't wait to give it another try. Thanks to Luis, Stewart, Ryan and Rosa Paulo for such a warm welcome.

It was a first surf camp in my life. And I got more than I expected. Nice surf team. The surf teacher is always with you in the water. Accommodation is very nice, clean and tidy. The "crew" proposes different entertainment in the evening. The connection from Porto is very easy and reachable by train.

Surfivor Surf Camp you can only recommend. Esmoriz, people, environment, beach, weather..Just everything. Before I arrived I had my doubts because I traveled alone. But since many traveled alone, even those who did not travel alone were all very nice and we had a lot of fun. The instructors and staff are all funny and established people. Surfing was also beautiful and you made many surf trips when the waves on the beach were not as optimal before the Surf House. I'll definitely be back !! I miss you guys!

Good standard on my private room, and and clean showers and toilets. Light breakfast, but enough to get to your energy for the surf and other activities. If you have tried surfing before, the coaches will give you advise on turning, and give you tips to correct errors that you don't see yourself. Very useful.

I stayed for a week on the surf lessons/breakfast/accommodation package which is great value for money. Esmoriz is a little way from Porto airport but Miguel gave very helpful, precise directions on how to get there, and arranged a pick up from Esmoriz station. The staff and surf instructors were fantastic, enthusiastic and very friendly and approachable. The hostel itself is a little surf oasis, located virtually on the beach. The dorm and all the facilities were clean and in good order. There isn't much to do in the town itself but there are good restaurants, which is all you really need after a morning's surf. There was also an arranged trip to Porto (you just need to pay a few euros for the train and pay for a meal etc) which was great as I had no time to explore it myself. I'd really recommend a stay with the surf lessons package for any beginner surfers. And for people who already know how to surf who want a really chilled out, surf heavy trip Surfivor is a great place to be located and meet other surfers.

I spent a week in Surfivor Camp in Esmoriz and it was a great experience. The teachers are good, the house is very well kept, located by the beach and with many excursions near by. The staff looking after the house are really kind and helpful and will go to lengths to make you feel welcome and comfortable. Planning already for a new visit!
