I stayed at the surf hostel for an entire month actually because I wanted to get better at surfing and with one of the best beginner/intermediate beaches in the world a short van ride (or even a twenty minute walk) away, my surfing drastically improved. But not without the help of an incredible surf coaching staff who sometimes seemed to care more about my surfing than I did (which is a lot). Everyone at the hostel is genuine and will do everything they can to make sure you enjoy your stay in the magical and beautiful Porto. The hostel itself is clean, and cool in the summertime. There is lots of space and a good atmosphere thanks to the pretty, antique furniture. I can't wait to bring my family back one day. I had planned on traveling around the country but I ended up staying in Porto the entire time because I was so happy there.

We had a really great experience dropping by Surfivorcamp in Esmoriz. While we were only there for one day, it's easy to see what a great experience it would be to stay for a week. The staff were all super friendly, great relaxed atmosphere amongst everyone. It was our first time surfing and we were very impressed with the quality of the equipment and the level of instruction we received from the staff. It's clear that they put a lot of thought into choosing the right conditions and location for their daily surf lesson. We were divided into groups based on level of experience and given brightly colored vests to wear over our wet suits indicating which group we belonged to. I was very happy to feel that we received lots of individual attention and instruction geared to our level. It was especially nice to have our stretch of the beach to our group. A great experience all round, can't wait to give it another try. Thanks to Luis, Stewart, Ryan and Rosa Paulo for such a warm welcome.
