The surf spots surrounding the surf camp give all the conditions needed for you to learn or develop your surf techniques. The surf lessons last 2 hours and have a maximum of 10 students per lesson. All surf instructors are experienced and traveled surfers, and have all the credentials and knowledge needed to teach/guide according to each students needs, and that they have safety as a priority, inside and outside of the water. Every day the surf instructors search for the best waves according to the level of the students, choosing one of the 20 surf spots located around the camp. The guest can have two surf lessons, if the surf conditions are bad then the students can improve their surf techniques as well as surf knowledge with some physical and theoretical training using the photos and videos to find the mistakes that need to be corrected.

  • Rui Enes

Before Rui started as a surf teacher, he worked as a life guard, but quickly found out that teaching was his passion. He has a Master in Physical Activities and Health, and specialized his final thesis in surfing and life-styles. So, basically surfing and teaching are his biggest passion in life. Now that he is finished with his studies, he has decided to start the Surfers Camp project, so he can pass on the pleasure of surfing and living a relaxed, free and healthy life to others, using the beautiful beaches of his country as class rooms.

The Surfers Camp & Guesthouse is situated 30 kilometers south from the city of Oporto, in a traditional fishing village called Esmoriz. "I spent a week at the surf camp. I'm really embarrassingly inept at surfing but during my time there, Rui, Miguel and Thomas were extremely helpful and really encouraging. It took me a really long time but they never got annoyed and just kept helping. The surf camp, too, was really laid back. The house is comfortable and there were regular barbecues that were both delicious and really fun. All in all, a really fantastic experience with some of the nicest people I've ever met. Thanks guys!."

"I only spent one night at the camp but felt welcomed immediately. Surf at Espinho was amazing - the right hander at low tide was all time! Rui is a very cool guy and has the local knowledge you need when you're a travelling surfer. The camp has comfortable accommodation and great location. It is very close to the beach and restaurants. I will be coming back again."
