During this camp, you will spend mostly your time in Los Santos, Panama. Surfcamp Guanico is located directly on the beach with a breathtaking view on the Pacific Ocean, the green hills of the natural turtle park, and the great surf break of the bay. Moreover, all surf spots located in the province of Los Santos have a similar swell exposure like those in Costa Rica and Nicaragua. Unlike other locations, Playa Guanico still provides some empty line ups and secret surf spots.
There is a bus service to Las Tablas / Tonosi from Panama City with the main bus terminal at Albrook. After the comfortable touring bus from Panama City to Las Tablas, you can take a cab to the other local bus terminals to get a ride to Tonosi. Not all buses to Las Tablas / Tonosi are touring buses. Some are coaster buses that have limited storage space for luggage and surf boards, so Surfcamp Guanico recommends traveling these 4 hours from Panama with the touring buses. The coaster from Las Tablas to Tonosi will get you there in 50 minutes. Once in Tonosi, you can take the bus to Guanico Abajo (Guanico Beach) which runs a few times a day and costs 2 USD per person each way or take a cab from Tonosi to the beach for about 10 USD.
