You'll stay at Surfari, a brand new surf hostel located in Punta Rocas, only a few meters away from one of the most famous beaches and waves in Peru, Punta Rocas. The hostel can accommodate a maximum of 30 people in 7 rooms. There is a bar, a pool, a grill area, books and games, and all you could wish during your stay.

Difficulty levels

This program takes place exclusively on the Punta Rocas beach, known as the most consistent wave in the world, this allows securing the participants the possibility to surf every day of the program.

This wave requires an intermediate to high level of surfing knowledge, and it is not for beginners. However, there are other alternative beaches nearby where you can immerse yourself in the surfing world step by step. Should you require more info, please ask for other programs.

The kind of training provided with this program is more of a mentoring and guiding, with surf sessions accompanied by the instructor, who will be at your side giving tips. If you are interested in other types of training please ask for other programs for advanced surfers where you will be able to improve your skills.

The program starts on the first day upon participants arrival. Check-in at the hostel is at 3 p.m. After being introduced to the Surfari facilities and after leaving their luggage in the chosen room, the participants will meet the instructor, who will support them in whatever they require during their entire stay.

That first afternoon/evening there is a guided tour to the beach of Punta Rocas with the instructor, which is only 30 meters from the hostel, and on return, dinner is served, in which the program of the next few days is explained, and one can clarify any worry.

The program begins with an early yoga session and breakfast. After that we head out for the daily surf session. Lunch can be served in a restaurant located on the beach itself or in the Surfari restaurant. After a rest or relax in the pool, you have another surf session in the afternoon accompanied by the instructors on the beach of Punta Rocas.

In the evenings, dinners are served in the restaurant, and participants can relax in the pool, with some board games or enjoy a few drinks at the bar. Two or three times a week, you'll get grills with meat, vegetables, or fish from the area.

At the request of the participants, some days Surfari can organize surf sessions in the mornings or evenings to other beaches around, since the hostel is located just a few minutes drive from more than 15 surf spots with different levels of difficulty, although of course, the waves of Punta Rocas are the most famous and spectacular. This option has an additional cost for travel.

On the last morning after breakfast, the last surf session is held with the instructors until 12 p.m., the check-out time. In the afternoon, the participants can continue enjoying the Surfari facilities until the time of return to Lima.

Many of the participants in the surf camps decide to stay an additional night to enjoy the atmosphere of the weekends and know the best clubs in Lima located just a few minutes from Punta Rocas, with whom Surfari have agreements so that guests have free access or special conditions. This additional night or the consumptions that are made are not included in the package.

Included excursions

To be discussed openly and mutually, Surfari is flexible and always willing to enhance the overall experience of the participants

How to get there

Recommended Airports

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Jorge Chávez International Airport (LIM), the airport is located about 1.5 hours away from the hostel.

Inbound and outbound airport transfers are not included except for big groups. We can arrange airport transfers for an additional fee, and we recommend this option especially if you bring your own equipment or is the first time you are in Lima.

It´s possible to get by public transport to our hostel from Lima, by bus, but most of the times there will be need to take a couple of them depending on where you are: From Miraflores one bus to Puente Benavides. And then the last one from Puente Benavides to Punta Rocas. The latter one bus pass by Lurin and the last stop is San Bartolo. You will need to stop in Punta Rocas, which the entrance is full of flags from the world.

Another option is to order a taxi through uber, beat or cabify and it should cost you 60 or S/70 from Miraflores/ Barranco, and around S/130 from the airport.

If you come from Ica it will take you between 3 and 4 hours from Ica. Punta Rocas Beach, belonging to Punta Negra, and all surrounding villages (Punta Hermosa, San Bartolo, Pucusana) are not very populated, and hence, don't have a big terminal bus. If you are taking public transport we recommend you go ask in the terminal in Ica, there are many different companies making the route Ica-Lima and they should agree to drop you off a little earlier. If big buses are inflexible, there are also some shared vans that are quicker and more flexible with stops.

Airport: Jorge Chávez International Airport Airport transfer available: Jorge Chávez International Airport (US$40 per person) Additional charges may apply. You can request this in the next step.
