Join Surf Sisters for a surf and yoga retreat in the Peruvian North Shore that is home to warm weather with perfect and mellow left hander waves, and delicious cuisine. This retreat is the ideal option for women who are looking for a secluded luxury getaway on a relaxed, welcoming, and friendly atmosphere where every detail has been thought carefully for your complete relaxation and joy.
The group will stay in a beautiful surf house, located in El Ñuro beach. With an industrial style but respecting the typical architecture from the Northern Peru, the house is located a few meters from the beach, with an open and spacious living and kitchen on the first floor and a huge terrace, with hammocks, a large wood table, and a chill area.
The living room has a comfortable sofa and a television, a perfect setting for nights of surf movies. On the main floor, you will find two bathrooms. On the second floor, you will find two bedrooms, each with a beautiful ocean view and open windows.
Each bedroom has a private bathroom, located on the ground floor. Each room has three single beds. The maximum capacity is six people. The surf house also has Wi-Fi.
Participants will learn and improve on their surfing and become a great and safe surfer in the beautiful setting of golden beaches, palm trees, and occasional dolphin sightseeing while surfing. Participants will also relax and revitalize with daily yoga and massage, enjoy delicious cuisine, and live for experiences such as road trips and adventures with a group of women from all around the world.
Every morning, you will start the day with a revitalizing and energizing yoga session, and then go for a great surf session. You will also enjoy the most exquisite Peruvian food that is considered one of the best of the world. All this in an amazing atmosphere and with a complete disconnection from your daily routine!
Peru is a particular surf spot for the lessons and there are multiple surf beaches that you will visit, depending on the condition of the day and the level of the surfers.
Theory lesson outside the water such as ocean knowledge, safety, technique for laying on the board, standing up, paddling, and water practice in beginners' area.
During these days, lessons will be run directly on the wave. The beginner surfers will reach the line-up with the instructors, improving the technique, passing the white water, learning to turn, standing up, correct paddling, positioning, wave selection and knowledge, surfing across the wave.
The Intermediate / Advance will be directly in the waves with one of the coaches, who will guide you in the waves, teaching and correcting. Getting outside, crossing the white water (turtle, dock dive), correct paddling and position in longboard and shortboard, wave selection and surfing across the wave. Bottom turns.
One of the instructors will be on the shore, filming and taking pictures, for the following video coaching, where you will be analyzed and corrected in technique, posture among others. Lessons will be organized during the early morning (two hours) and practice with supervision during the afternoon (two hours). A total of four hours of surfing per day.
The International Surfing Association (ISA) is the world governing authority for surfing and all surf riding activities, including shortboard, longboard, bodyboard, kneeboard, tandem, skimboard, tow-in, and stand up paddle (SUP) surfing. The ISA is a non-profit organization recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) as the international federation for all wave-riding sports including surfing and bodyboarding.
The ISA is dedicated to the development of these sports worldwide; providing guidance and advice to its members around the world on matters such as competition, judging, coaching, surf schools, anti-doping and drug testing, and other areas of development of the sport.
The ISA is a member of the Association of IOC Recognized International Sports Federations (ARISF), the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), the General Association of International Sports Federations (GAISF), and the International World Games Association (IWGA).
Surf Sisters promotes surfing for all levels and skills. The objective in all of their retreats is to integrate every woman who is training and surfing together as they will progress more than when they are alone.
You will learn from not only your instructor but also from your teammates. Surf Sisters will support and encourage each other, from the women who are catching their first waves ever to those progressive surfers who are looking to improve their surfing techniques.
Octavio is the co-founder of Surf Sisters. Always in a good mood and positive energy, he is the I.S.A head coach and instructor and the person behind the cameras capturing every moment of the retreat. With more than five years experience in camera, production, edition, and television direction, Octavio is also in charge of the design and development of the Surf Sisters image.
Chelu is the Surf Sisters founder and director. She is passionate about surf and trips organization. Before getting into the surf world, she had an extensive and productive career in advertising and public relations; with a wide experience on events planning and working on advertising and public relations international agencies.
During this retreat, you will stay in an amazing surf house located in El Ñuro beach, 15 minutes from Mancora and five minutes from Los Organos. El Ñuro is known for being an area of residential villas, quiet and relaxed with a small town located two minutes from the surf house. There is no night life, so it's the perfect scenario to disconnect, relax, and enjoy six days of sport, yoga, and nature.
The sunny Peruvian North Shore (Lobitos, Mancora, Las Pocitas, El Uro, and Los Organos) is exactly the place where the Pacific Ocean becomes warm. The warm waters and weather means that you will only need a rash guard. The mellow, beginner-friendly, and perfect left point breaks make this place an ideal setting to learn to surf or improve your skills with a short board.
During this retreat, you will be served three healthy and exquisite Peruvian meals per day. The meals will be cooked by the in-house chef. There will be breakfast after surfing, lunch, and dinner. A fixed menu will be prepared daily by the chef. You may also enjoy a snack before surfing such as fruit or coffee. Also, a vegetarian menu available upon request.
During your free time, you may try some exciting activities such as kiteboarding lessons. The lessons will be available in packages such as a six-hour course of two days for 320 USD, a nine-hour course in three days for 450 USD, and a twelve-hour course of four days for 580 USD. You may also try a SUP tour with the turtles for 50 USD.
Massages are available upon request for 50 USD per hour.
Arrive at the Capitán FAP Víctor Montes Arias International Airport (TYL), also known as Talara Airport. Transfer from and to this airport is included in this retreat. Surf Sisters will pick you up from the airport.
