Surf Riders & CO - Surf Camp's goal is to be more a home than a surf camp, which allows you to have individual attention. The accommodation is the alternative for those seeking for some peace of mind; located in the city center, but on one of the few premium properties in Ericeira. It has a common pool, outdoor parking, and also a number of green spaces. The team is composed of people who travel a lot. They know the importance of being well-received and followed up when they come to a country that is not theirs. If you find you need anything extra or have some special requests, please inform Surf Riders Ericeira in advance.

Private double room

The private double room is for two guests, equipped with a double bed, lots of light, and shared full bathroom for every three bedrooms. The bedroom is inserted in one of the large villas of the property.

The shared twin room is for one or two guests, equipped with two twin beds, lots of light, and shared full bathroom for every three bedrooms. The bedrooms are inserted in one of the large villas of the property.


Yoga gets you in touch with the rhythm of your breath and body, while surfing gets you in sync with the wave patterns and ocean tides. Special Hatha yoga postures help to strengthen the key physical points to the surfing practice, such as arms, legs, back, and wrists; minimizing the risk of injuries, and improving recovery time after a surf session. They help you focus your mind and supports your balance on the board. By learning to know and accept your body, you will improve your surf skills and bring your body feeling to a whole other level.

Yoga is a great way to start and / or end your surf day by warming up your body and creating the energy on focusing yourself before a session or by stretching to help avoid neck, shoulder, and back stiffness, as well as relaxing your physical and mental bodies after a nice surf day. Practicing yoga on flat surf days can also keep you in great shape until the next big swell comes in.

Both yoga and surfing teach you to meet and overcome fear, to breathe deeply, and to ride the waves of life with grace and ease. Learning to concentrate during intense yoga poses plays out in the water. As you breathe deeply and calm your mind, you settle into a natural rhythm and balance on your board. Therefore, when the big waves roll in, you can stay cool and collected. Hang loose on yoga.

No matter if you are totally new to the world of yoga or already an experienced yogi or yogini, the loving and professional yoga teacher will always make sure you get the most out of the classes. From beginners to advanced levels, the instructors will make sure you are safe on the mat and will guide you on amazing inner journeys.

Sami is a professional surfer born in Ericeira. He tries to adapt the classes to the students so that they have fun and learn the maximum. He has been teaching since he was 16 years old. He has worked as a surf coach all over the world. In addition to being certified as a surf instructor, he also has certification as a lifeguard, stand-up paddle instructor, and surf coach.
Sansão is one of the surf instructors during your stay. His background is architecture, however, he dedicated himself to surfing a few years ago. He is certified as a surf teacher and has been teaching in Ericeira since the beginning of his training.
Lis is a yoga teacher. ​For her, yoga is a way to get closer to her real self and enable the flow of energy. The first step is to enjoy the body postures, a conscious breathing (pranayama), and concentration (dharana).
Mafalda is a yoga teacher and always available for the guests. She delivers two sessions per day at the camp including one morning session and one sundown session in the amazing sea view terrace.
Arnaldo is one of the surf instructors of SurfRiders. He is a graduate in Sports and dedicated himself to surfing a few years ago. He is certified as a surf teacher and has been teaching in Ericeira since the beginning of his training.


Early in the morning, the misty veil slowly rains over the Portuguese Atlantic Coast and the first rays of sunlight fall warmly over the Surf Riders & CO - Surf Camp, dipping the flowers and palm trees in the garden into a light morning blush. The chirping of the little birds is the only noise you hear. Nestled among the rolling fields of lush green vegetation, stands the villas of the guesthouse Surf Riders & CO - Surf Camp, overlooking the region of Ericeira. Here, the world is still in order. Slowly, the clear air mixes with the aroma of freshly brewed coffee. Not only the Golden Heritage itself, with its outdoor pool, the lovingly landscaped garden, and the countless chill-out and withdraw options leave nothing to be desired. Also, the surrounding area offers a lot.

For city lovers and explorers, the center of the beautiful city Ericeira (the first world surf reserve in Europe and second in the world and part of the Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) world tour) and its many stunning beaches are within walking distance. For those who like to explore more of the Portuguese Atlantic Coast, the historical cities such as Óbidos, Sintra, Lisbon, Peniche, and Fatima are very close too. The whole coastline invites water sports enthusiasts to go surfing, sailing, diving, and canoeing, while land lovers come with hiking, golfing, biking, and many more activities at their expense.

Every morning, the cook will serve you a healthy breakfast with organic fruit and juices, homemade granola muesli, and a choice of well-chosen ingredients for a rich lunch pack. A healthy and balanced as well as tasty diet which gives you strength for your surf sessions is the number one priority. In the evening, the kitchens in each villa invite you to cook. For those who prefer eating out, Surf Riders Ericeira offers a variety of restaurants which is either traditional Portuguese cuisine or international dishes. During the stay, Surf Riders Ericeira will also offer special healthy dinners to nourish your bodies and souls after a day full of yoga, surf, and adventure.

How to get there

Driving directions from Lisbon Portela Airport (LIS)

  • Take the A8 motorway and then the A21 will take you to Ericeira.
  • Leave the airport at Av Berlin, turn left at Av. Porto, and follow the signs to road E1 North A1 / A8 West / A12 South.
  • Take the exit 14 at IC17 / CRIL towards A8 West.
  • Take the exit towards A8 Leiria / Loures and follow this road for 16 kilometers.
  • Take the exit 5 towards N8 / Mafra / Malveira and follow the A21 motorway to the end.
  • The toll has a cost of 2.90 EUR if you have not seen green. Make sure you get a valid ticket on the automatic machine.

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Lisbon Portela Airport (LIS). Transfer from and to this airport is available upon request. You can book your transfer soon after booking the room.

Arrival by bus

A cheap and convenient way to get from Lisbon to Ericeira is to use the public bus. Leaving the Campo Grande in Lisbon, there is a direct connection to the center of Ericeira. The first bus leaves at 6:27 and the last at 23:40. It takes between 45 minutes (fast lane) and 85 minutes.

Coming from Lisbon Portela Airport (LIS) to Ericeira, just take the Metro to Campo Grande. In Campo Grande, catch a bus from Mafrence to Ericeira. The entire trip (from the airport to Campo Grande, Ericeira Bus Terminal, and walk to the Golden Heritage) can take three to four hours depending on the time you take the bus.
