Surf n Yoga is Surf N Stay New Zealand's most popular package and is available to anybody. Surfing and yoga are the perfect pair as one complements the other. Surf in the morning and stretch it out in the evening with this all-in-one package. Their qualified surf coaches and certified yoga teachers will be there to maximize your experience, potential, ability, and skills by sharing their passions with you!
Surf N Stay New Zealand offers 3 units in a total of 7 bedrooms with 3 bathrooms and balcony. The rooms can be set up as private doubles or shared twins, according to bookings. If you will be on your own, you will very likely buddy up with a new friend, with two beds in the same room. All rooms are very spacious, allowing for a comfortable stay.
The house is divided into two floors, each with its own living room, kitchen, and bathroom.
The accommodation reserved for the Surf n Yoga is the Beach Unit, which is the entire upstairs of the lodge. It offers three private double suites and a single room, perfect for a single person, couples, or friends.
The shared spaces include a large modern bathroom, fully equipped kitchen, spacious open plan living dining combo area, and a north-facing balcony with a lovely outlook and barbecue, with lots of sunshine. The exclusive use of this area will allow the participants to mingle and enjoy their time during their stay.
For larger numbers, Surf N Stay New Zealand open other areas of the building so guests can have use of extra facilities.

With Surf N Stay New Zealand's guidance during your surf sessions, you will learn proper popup techniques, the most efficient and effective way to paddle, what to look for so you can catch your own waves, safety tips, and the surfer’s etiquette to keep yourself and others safe.
Surf lessons are usually done in the morning, but this can change according to conditions. Surf N Stay New Zealand's instructors are knowledgeable and can adapt to your level of surfing, from beginners to intermediate, progressing to more advanced skills. It is important to communicate to your host and coach so they understand where you are and what your expectations are.
Your yoga session will focus on several yoga flows designed to stretch and strengthen your surf muscles with poses that you can use well after your adventure. These poses will help you stay in surf shape in between times in the water. You will also learn proper breathing and alignment techniques, variations of poses, as well as modifications. Each class ends with a short meditation.
The yoga sessions will be held by an experienced teacher, having in mind your daily surfing routine. She will focus on surfing movements either to prepare the group for a surf session or to just relax, according to the group's needs. Most sessions will be by the beach but in case of bad weather, participants will hold them in the house.
Arrive around lunchtime and meet and greet your host for a overview of the weeks plan. After that, you will get ready for your first surf session with your coach. This first session will set the pace for the remaining sessions, with a specific focus on what you would like to work on.
Your coach will be available for techniques and equipment discussions so you can get the most out of your training.
Note: don`t worry if you are not able to arrive at 12:00, Surf N Stay New Zealand will make arrangements around your arrival time. Please just let them know when you are planning to get here so they can assist you.
Start your day with an invigorating 8am yoga session either by the beach or in the studio according to the weather.
While you are enjoying your time, we will be working on a specially prepared breakfast for you from 9:00. If you have any dietary requirements, please let your host know.
The surf session will follow, but it may slightly change daily according to tide and swell conditions. Your coach will update you if any changes happen.
The afternoon will be reserved for any other activities, for an extra surf session, or just for relaxing. Ask us for any recommendations around the area. There are lots of places to explore and fun things to do in the Coromandel so make the most out of you time here.
At 08:00, you will have your last yoga session followed by your freshly made breakfast from 09:00. Differently from the other days, the last of your retreat will be reserved for an extra surf session or for any other activity you would like to have before moving on to your next adventure. If the surf is good, you can talk to your host and extend your stay.

Mauro is an ISA level two certified instructor with over 10 years of coaching experience. He owns and operates the Surf N Stay New Zealand. He opened the first Surf N Stay in Rio de Janeiro. After eight years in Brazil where his first son was born, he kept his dream alive of expanding to other destinations and opened a surf camp in Whangamata, New Zealand. Mauro teaches surfing with a great passion for the sport and the local community and run the Surf N Stay adventure hostel to let surfers and visitors from all around the world experience this beautiful part of the world.
Kat is has alot of experience with coaching surfing and Standup paddleboarding being certified 1 and 2 with 15 yrs Managing Surf Camps. She enjoys putting a fun lesson together with important feedback to gain improvements. Guarantees you will stand in your first lesson and progress throughout your stay. The Coromandel Peninsula, where Whangamata is located, has many tourist attractions and exploring around is recommended. Whnagamata itself offers many different options for kayaking, boating, and golfing, among others.
Whangamata is a stunning beach resort within the Coromandel, known for its beautiful beach and lively atmosphere. Daily continental breakfast is included. The breakfast consists of tea, coffee, toast, spreads, muesli, yogurt, and fresh seasonal fruits. The breakfast will be served on the top floor, and will include a variety of fruits, breads, and cereals. Your host will be setting it up in the morning at a convenient time, usually around the surf lessons and yoga sessions.

Experience a full learning experience about one of the most exotic locations in the Coromandel Peninsula. The set-off is at Island View Road with Surfsup Whangamata.
Get the feeling and understanding of the basic techniques to stand-up paddleboard correctly. Schedule a private lesson with a certified instructor on waves or flat water.
All islands can be seen from the beach with sea kayaks, single or double. The first island is within a 20-minute paddling time. Once there, you will be free to swim, then, go to the secluded beach at Clark Island.

Go Kiwi Shuttles is your best option. They can pick you up from Auckland City or the airport (domestic or international) and drop you off at Prescotts Garage on turn off to Pauanui. From there Surf n Stay will pick you up for free.
Arrivals on Monday are on early morning or late afternoon, depending where you coming form. If you are coming from Auckland we recommend arrivals on Sunday night so you have a full Monday to enjoy. Please contact us to arrange your free pick up.
InterCity Bus is your other option. They are New Zealand’s national network for bus schedules and bookings.
Connections with other bus companies like Stray and Kiwi Explorer are possible as well. Please contact us and we will arrange the transfer van for you.
