"Perfect place for young travellers who want to meet new people. Hostel is very small, so it feels like more home than hostel. Doors of dorms are unlocked but you still feel safety. Everyone spend time together and staff and other travellers are very friendly. Absolutely one of the best hostels where I have stayed!"

"I checked in. The weather was really stormy and rainy, but there was a friendly, welcoming vibe at the hostel. It's close to the beach and a store is just on the backside of the hostel. I enjoyed my stay, recommend it anytime. Cheers Surf n Stay!"

"Great location! Only a few meters from the beautiful Whangamata beach. Clean, nice, tidy, and super friendly staff. My stay was excellent. I was fortunate with great weather during one week. I had the chance to watch the sunrise and sunset at the beach almost every day. They also provide great service. Fresh eggs, coffee, and tea for breakfast every day. Fast Wi-Fi, surfboards, SUP, and kayak rental. I had so many memorable events and experiences surfing and kayaking in the islands around Whagamata. I totally recommend Surf N Stay New Zealand! Thanks guys!"

"It’s absolutely a fantastic beginner surf package. Three nights with four two-hour lessons. We had the best surf teachers who absolutely spoiled us with attention on our surfing. The little hostel was lovely with everyone chatting to each other and the young staff being incredibly helpful. We stayed in a four-person family unit with en suite bathroom. Recommendable on all levels."
