"Can’t wait to come back!"

I loved the whole vibe of the place, really cool people (especially the workers) and perfect location. The surf and yoga lessons were rad and I’m looking forward to returning soon!

"Amazing experience"

I loved how close I was to the beach and the vibe of the backpackers. I am also returning this weekend because I just had such a great time! The instructors were amazing, knowledgeable and patient. The yoga was also really good.

"Great week learning to surf"

The surfing instruction was great. The lessons were a good length to allow for a lot of time surfing, but not too long that you'll be overtired for yoga. The yoga studio was only a 10 min walk away and the classes there were equally well taught.

Perfect place for young travellers who want to meet new people. Hostel is very small, so it feels like more home than hostel. Doors of dorms are unlocked but you still feel safety. Everyone spend time together and staff and other travellers are very friendly. Absolutely one of the best hostels where I have stayed!

Loved to stay there! Really nice place, staff and breakfast! Good location. Good for surfing of course, but also just for having a good stay in this beautiful town. Everything was very great! I highly recommend it to other travelers!

Stumbled across Katrina and her partner at a wellness expo and went for a surf lesson following morning. Awesome teachers and most of all lovely friendly people. I will be joining in on their woman's retreat days which sound fantastic!

I checked in. The weather was really stormy and rainy, but there was a friendly, welcoming vibe at the hostel. It's close to the beach and a store is just on the backside of the hostel. I enjoyed my stay, recommend it anytime. Cheers Surf n Stay!

Great location! Only a few meters from the beautiful Whangamata beach. Clean, nice, tidy, and super friendly staff. My stay was excellent. I was fortunate with great weather during one week. I had the chance to watch the sunrise and sunset at the beach almost every day. They also provide great service. Fresh eggs, coffee, and tea for breakfast every day. Fast Wi-Fi, surfboards, SUP, and kayak rental. I had so many memorable events and experiences surfing and kayaking in the islands around Whagamata. I totally recommend Surf N Stay New Zealand! Thanks guys!
