Surf Life Tenerife Surf Camp is based on the Surf Hostel La Tortuga, located not far from Playa El Duque in Costa Adeje (which boasts some of the best sunsets of the whole island) and close to the pretty village of La Caleta and Playa de Los Hippies.

The famous tourist areas of Tenerife, Las Americas, and Costa Adeje, are easily accessible by bus, bike or even by walking, but if you book your surf package with us you're gonna come to the beach directly every time we go surfing!

Surf Life offers shared and private accommodation, which includes an “all you can eat” generous and varied breakfast. The house has a communal kitchen with a separate dining area and a bright, spacious lounge with tv at your disposal. The villa has a small but beautiful garden with palm trees, aloe vera plants, bougainvilleas, and beautiful orange flowers. It is an ideal place for relaxing, sunbathing and getting to know other guests while getting a refresh in the swimming pool.

A spacious and fully furnished kitchen is also available for our guests to cook lunches, dinners, and snacks that can be eaten in the large dining room or outdoor, in the terrace or in the garden. In the outdoor space of the villa, you will find a barbecue free for use by all our guests. Everybody loves Wednesday's barbeque night!

Surf Life Tenerife also offers different activities like kayaking with dolphins, boat trips for snorkeling with turtles and whale watching, scuba diving, paragliding, and lots more.

Program

The surf camp options include five surf lessons with custom training at the beach and in the water. Depending on the guest's skill level, the surf instructor will be always behind the board with his fins, in order to stabilize the board and ensure that standing and balancing are easy or surf next to his students to follow the waves from the very first moment until the last one.

A post surf stretching and cool down session will be done by the beach. Lesson debriefing and additional tips will be provided to improve skills. Every lesson lasts two hours and includes the transfer to the surf spot.

The surfing school also offers two hours single private lesson at 75 EUR. Two hours of private lesson for two persons at 59 EUR per person. An extra two hours group lesson with a minimum of three persons can be booked at 39 EUR per person. Surf lessons for kids starting from five years old and kids up to twelve years old will receive a private lesson with a ratio of one instructor is to one kid.

Location

The surf lessons usually take place in Playa de Las Americas, Arona. However, conditions always change depending on the tide level. Guests are assured of the best moment for learning nonetheless.

The hostel is 10 minutes driving from Playa Las Americas, where you can find the main surf spots of the southwest of Tenerife, and less than 10 minutes walking from Playa del Duque, famous for its stunning sunsets. The area is also known for being close to the disco pub called Achaman, where you can go dancing salsa or just hang out for a drink.

If you want to explore the islands on your own, from the hostel you can get a Bus to Los Cristianos, which is connected to all the rest of the island.

The surf lessons usually take place in Las Americas. Depending on the conditions and on the tide level we will choose the best spot for your learning! In the case in which conditions will not be good, we will drive to El Medano, sandy beach in the south!

Please book your flight to arrive at Tenerife–South Airport (TFS). From the airport, you could take a taxi for approximately 20 minutes. Ask your driver to go to Calle Reykjavik, in Plaza del Duque near to the Centro Commercial El Duque. Tell him that the venue is just in front of the Residencial Benimar. Average taxi rate from the airport is between 25 and 30 EUR. An extra charge of 3 EUR is for night trips.
