Experience a new culture, it is also a great "getaway break" at a very affordable price. The second Surf Connect meets you, they will take care of everything for you; Surf Connect is well known for its superb organization and totally stress-free trips! This safari will suit both kiters as well as non-kiters! The location is flat and shallow with a steady wind, suitable for beginners to advanced riders. Surf Connect will offer lessons there too if required.
You will be staying in twin or double rooms. Upgrades to spa rooms and private single rooms are also available, as well as family rooms. The kite beach is right on location so you do not need to travel at all. You will be staying in a very well-facilitated resort with lots of activities to do when you want a break from kiting or have non-kiting partners or family coming along. Kayaks, banana boat rides, fishing, bike hire, etc. are available.
2019’s safari was pretty perfect, with the Wind Gods treating Surf Connect well. They have received top feedback and many have already signed up to come again in 2022! Kiters of all levels including beginners (lessons available if required), friends, and family are welcome as the resort has lots of non-kiting activities catering for visitors of all types!
Most people will bring their own kite equipment. Gear hire is also available if required. Surf Connect had wind every single day in the 2019 Safari but it was average light so bring your biggest kites and board and you should be able to kite every day! Obviously, Surf Connect cannot guarantee wind, but if you are 75 kilograms, bring your 9, 12, and 15m kites. Bintan is known for gentle steady wind conditions in the month of July, where the southeast trade winds come inconsistently. Standup paddleboards and windsurfers are also available for rent.
This is a kitesurf safari so it will be kitesurfing each day with sightseeing tours to fit when the wind is not suitable for kiting, so there is no set schedule for the program as everything is dependent on weather.
Tours are included in the package. They include a visit to local islands, city tours, as well as other beaches and local villages. There are also lots of optional activities available at the resort, from spas, massages, kayaks, snorkeling, banana boat rides, quad bikes, bicycle hire, fishing, and diving.
There are lots to do for kiters as well as non-kiters, this trip is very suitable for families or partners and friends who are not kiters; they can enjoy a cocktail at the pool while others are kiting right next to the pool!
The resort is located in the territory of Indonesia, about a one-hour ferry ride from Singapore. Surf Connect has been to Indonesia for six years and their tours are well known for their top organization. They take care of everything for you, so you just relax, kite, relax, kite, relax, eat, relax, and in between, a few drinks and have a good time! But please note that the safaris are professionally organized tours and not a "get drunk" or "misbehave" getaways. Alcohol is of course allowed and available but Surf Connect does not want anyone to go overboard and behave silly.
Daily buffet breakfast is already included in the package. Two restaurants at the resort serve local authentic meals at a very reasonable price. The hotel accepts credit cards so you can just put all your expenses under your room and pay at the end. There are also a few local restaurants where very cheap authentic local food is available.
