Location

Surf&Chill Bastimentos is located at the edge of the jungle in Old Bank (Bastimentos village) (Old Bank) on Isla Bastimentos, which is part of the Bocas del Toro archipelago in the Northwest of Panama. You’ll be surrounded by beautiful tropical landscape; a broad variety of trees and flowers as well as animals such as parrots, oropendolas, red frogs, sloths, iguanas, and night monkeys. The place is located very beautifully at the edge of the rainforest, surrounded by lush greenery and amazing wildlife, as well as offering stunning ocean views. At the same time, it’s only at a few minutes walking distance from the center of the village. If you keep following the jungle trail that leads from the village to Surf&Chill Bastimentos, you will reach gorgeous Wizard Beach after 15 - 20 minutes.

As there are no cars in this part of Isla Bastimentos, you can enjoy the pure sound of nature and breath pure fresh air. This is the perfect place for nature lovers who are comfortable with walking in rugged terrain. The neighborhood is quiet and safe.

Arrival by bus

There are daily night buses from Panama City to Almirante. You can buy tickets one day in advance at the bus terminal in Albrook, from where the bus leaves. There are also daily public buses from Davíd to Almirante (their final destination is Changuinola which is written on the bus) leaving frequently from early morning through evening. If you are coming from San José, Cahuita, or Puerto Viejo, you can take a public bus to the boarder (Sixaola), then walk across the bridge, that separates Costa Rica and Panama, and on the other side (Guabito) get a taxi or minibus to Almirante.

Arrival by ferry / boat

From Almirante, there are frequent taxi boats to Isla Colón (Bocas). It is recommended that you take a boat at Bocas Marine Tours, as their dock on Bocas is right next to the dock where the boats leave to Bastimentos. The Bastimentos boat dock on Isla Colón is located next to the office of Bocas Marine Tours on the main street (called 3a). Boats run regularly from morning through evening, the price for the 5 to 10 minutes boat ride is 3 USD.

Arrival by shuttle

There are daily shuttles from Boquete and Davíd to Isla Colón (Bocas).
