"We had an amazing week of surf with the people of Calima Surf in the town of Famara. The conditions were very good the instructors are very good and the town is very nice. The accommodation is very close to.the surfing spot within walking distance. We are booking it again to escape from London's winter."

"The normal class schedule seems to be 7 nights. However, Calima Surf School was very accommodating of my request to go for a long weekend (Friday to Sunday) in December. Early morning flight from London on a cold Friday morning, arriving in time for the afternoon class on a warm sandy beach in Lanzarote, and full day of classes on Saturday - it's great! It's possible to hire equipment for Sunday and put your skills in to practice. The team are very friendly, fun, and give great coaching tips. I'm looking forward to going back again soon! I wish I could have spent the full week - I would have learned so much."

"My seven and eight year old's were really keen to try surfing and Calima Surf were amazing in their explanations and communications ahead of our lesson. I was confident that the boys' safety and enjoyment was paramount to them. We had the most fantastic afternoon. Anita was perfect with my boys, encouraging them, and helping them to catch a wave. They both stood up almost immediately and the two hours sped by. We went back again and hired wet suits and boards as their choice of activity for our last day too. They've not stopped talking about it still! Thank you."

"I've been to a number of surf schools around the world, and I can honestly say that Calima is the best one. The teachers really know what they're doing, and the equipment is top notch. The two surf houses they have are beautiful and the overall atmosphere among surfers and non-surfers is just great. Prices are low for what you get and Famara itself is a really charming and beautiful place. If you're thinking about spending some time in Famara, just book it."

"It has been my first surf trip thanks to Calima Surf and we had a fantastic time. My big concern was if i would find waves. I could enjoy with two meters tall waves when a northwest wind enter, an unforgettable day! I learned a lot with surf monitors in a wonderful place."

"Decided to take a quick week to attempt to surf as a solo traveller in early 50's, decided on Calima surf school and I am so glad I did! Arranged a pick up from the airport, so convenient and after some paperwork checked into room and before I knew it was invited to a barbecue on the roof where I met a great bunch of people from all over Europe of differing ages. A great start. Surfing tuition by Melinda and Patricia was perfectly judged and they made it great fun! I had a great chilled out week of surfing, tapas and good company and would highly recommend Calima surf and hope to return this year! Thanks to Gabby and the Team."

"I came to calima several times. I could increase my surf skills rapidly. The Instructors are lovely and professional. The Village of Famara is great for sports, relaxing, making friends from all over the world, and the inhabitants are all open-minded and nice. Be sure you have some spare space in your heart, cause you will keep them there, just as they will keep you in their heart. Tired of red skinned, fat-bellied, ingnorant i-want-my-scnitzel-tourists? This is the place for you! You can experience the people, the island and its nature in a way none of the bloody-resort-tourist will ever do."
