Surf camp
During your week with Surf Bikini Nosara learning to surf, you will receive a minimum of 18 hours of hands-on professional surf coaching. The process of teaching the core skills for surfing encompasses four steps: explanation, demonstration, participation, and feedback. In each of the steps, the teaching process will always be simple, fun, and safe. Teaching the core skills sequentially with safety in mind develops the solid foundation for progressing and having fun in the waves.
At Surf Bikini Nosara, surf coaches go above and beyond teaching the basics of surfing by limiting the class size to only eight students per week. They will work one-on-one with you to understand your unique goals and challenges. At the outset of your stay with them, professional surf coaches will be working closely with you to develop a personalized training plan to be incorporated into your daily surf instruction.
A critical and highly effective component of the teaching process is the daily one-on-one progress feedback sessions. These personalized feedback sessions provide you with immediate clear, concise, and constructive feedback on the subtle yet extremely important details of how you carry your arms, head, shoulders, or placement of your feet.
Through “rapid-fire feedback”, you will quickly be on your way to developing the essential technical core skills required to progress, self-coach yourself, and have a blast in the waves long after your stay at Surf Bikini Nosara.
Yoga
Surrounded by a lush jungle setting, you will experience three invigorating one-hour yoga sessions during your week at Surf Bikini. Each yoga session has been uniquely developed as a Costa Rican interpretation of Vinyasa “flow” and restorative poses to compliment your surfing.
Yoga instructors who are all certified by the renowned Nosara Yoga Institute will guide you through poses choreographed with a special focus on making you feel light and relaxed so that your inner goodness will shine through. Most of the classes in the Restorative yoga mode use blocks and straps to perform passive poses so that your body can experience the benefits of a pose without over exerting oneself.
