Surf Camp Hawaii

Learn to surf in Hawaii, on the north shore of Oahu away from the crowds and noise of Waikiki! Sunset Suzy’s Surf lessons on Oahu have been helping men, women, and children learn to surf on Oahu for 20 years. Get ready to surf until you are too tired to surf anymore. When you are satisfied, you can find other fun things to do like swim with the beautiful sea turtles or go hike to waterfalls.

During this program you will be staying at Ke Iki Beach Bungalows which is is located between Waimea Bay and Sunset Beach on the amazing North Shore of Oahu. Both prime spots are less than a 15 minute walk so you can have your pick of the best surfing Oahu has to offer. All beachfront bungalows have beautiful ocean and sunset views. You may get to watch the whales breach and blow and the dolphins play while you relax with your favorite drink lounging in the hammocks. Spacious one and two bedroom units feature full kitchens, Wi-Fi, telephones, TV and DVD, barbecues, picnic tables, hammocks and the amazing Ke Iki Beach.

Included excursions

During this surf camp, you will go to hiking trips to rain forest and waterfalls. You will also get to go snorkeling and exploring Hawaii's underwater world.


Surf lessons with Sunset Suzy on the Island of Oahu are held in a small wave beginner cove filled with Hawaiian sea turtles. If you are looking for the Real Hawaii and want to escape the crowds, come to the North shore of Oahu where you will find uncrowded surf, sea turtles, long white sand beaches with coconut palm trees and warm turquoise waters. The north shore of Oahu is also home to world famous surf breaks like the Banzai Pipeline and Sunset Beach.

Ke Iki Beach Bungalows are located right in the middle of the famous North Shore's seven mile miracle. During the winter, Waimea Bay and the Banzai Pipeline are home to the largest surfable winter waves. Sunset Beach, only a few minutes way, is known as surfing's Mecca. The surf and scenery are amazing any time of the year.

All meals and drink during this surf camp is not included, however, there are many affordable food trucks nearby and accommodations also have kitchens.

Things to do (optional)

Aquatic Surfari's

Marine biologist team crew one of the few private sailboat charters in Hawaii. Unique adventures range from cryptic coral spawning or out-of-this-world meteor showers to intimate whale and dolphin encounters on a sensitive, conservation-minded journey. Their six passenger maximum makes this a don't miss event!

Banzai Pipeline: Ehukai Beach Park

The Banzai Pipeline is a beautiful tubed surfing break. When it's "cranking," the surf is some of the most spectacular in the world. These powerful waves break savagely on the reef displaying their massive power. Ehukai Beach Park has some of the best sandbar surf on O`ahu during the spring and summer.

Dive with Dave

Dave is a PADI certified and insured instructor who has taught over 150 people how to scuba dive. Dave is also a professional commercial photographer. If you are into scuba diving and photography, there is no better person to dive with on the island of Oahu.

Dole Pineapple Plantation

The Dole Plantation, Hawaii’s "Pineapple Experience," is located about 10 minutes away from historic Haleiwa town.

Hale'iwa Town (historic)

A plantation town that has come of age - old general stores co-exist with modern boutiques, art galleries, and eateries. Former summer playground of Queen Liliuokalani, Hawaii's last reigning monarch. Largest marina on the north shore.

Hanauma Bay Nature Park

Crystal clear water, abundant marine life, and a living coral reef mean Hanauma Bay is one of the premiere snorkeling destinations in the islands any time of year. A gently sloping beach fronts directly on the horseshoe shaped bay, formed in the remains of Koko Head Crater, an ancient cinder-cone volcano, now breached and filled with sea water. Within this half-mile-wide bay are one of the prettiest reefs and the most abundant fish life in Hawaii.

Original glider rides and bi-plane flights

Check in with "Mr. Bill" and take a ride in a bubble-topped sailplane, an open-cockpit 1941 Stearman bi-plane, or a Pitts S-2B aerobatic sport bi-plane.

Paradise Cove Luau

Paradise Cove is one of the largest and most respected luau shows in Hawai'i. Located at the beautiful Ko Olina Resort on the leeward coast of O'ahu, Paradise Cove features brilliant sunset views from there 12-oceanfront acres.

Waimea Valley Adventure Park

One of last partially intact ahupua‘a on O`ahu, Waimea Valley consists of 1,875 acres and has been a sacred place for more than 700 years of Native Hawaiian history. Waimea, “The Valley of the Priests,” gained its title around 1090 when the ruler of O‘ahu awarded the land to the kähuna nui. Descendants of the high priests lived and cared for much of the Valley until 1886.

How to get there

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Honolulu International Airport (HNL).

Driving directions from Wakiki or Honolulu

  • Take H1 West approximately 20 miles from Waikiki.
  • Take H2 North towards the north shore.
  • Follow H2 about seven miles until the freeway ends.
  • HIghway turns into Highway 99.
  • Take Highway 99 to Highway 83 (Kamehameha Highway).
  • Take the 83 to the North shore.
  • Turn into Haleiwa at the second light.
  • Look for the first building on the left about a half mile down the road. This is Jameson’s by the Sea where the meeting point is.
