"Relax and enjoy"
I liked everything! Sundance is a very nice small place, where you can have a lot of fun by surfing, experience local culture, relax. In the evenings we had fish barbecue, went to temple, to bars, to drink on the beach, also with locals. The beach close by has a good waves for a bit more advanced surfers than I was. If you have experience in surfing, you might want to take shoes with you, as it is with rocks and see urchins. Some people go without shoes though. Less experience people were brought to Weligama to surf, where the beach is sandy and waves are smaller. In Weligama one can buy everything one might need, there are ATMs, alcohol store, pharmacy, a lot of small shops. To get there I suggest to use bus, it is cheaper than tuk tuk and more fun!

"Perfect place to learn and relax"
We spent over a week at Sundance and we never wanted to leave!
The best part about Sundance is the hosting-family. They are truly kind and helpful people, and we miss them already.
Johannes was a great host and helped with answering all of our questions leading up to the camp.
The instruction / surfing was fantastic. Both my fiancée and I were beginners and by the end of our instruction we were regularly and easily catching waves, getting up almost every time.
Weligima Beach is an absolutely perfect place to learn as well. Everyday has excellent wave to catch and learn on and the water is a spectacularly comfortable temperature, you don’t want to get out!
The daily breakfast was something we looked forward to every day, with a great omelette, toast and tons of delicious fresh fruit and a huge pot of coffee or tea. Sundance also offers a Fish dinner.
We took advantage of the tea farm tour as well, if you enjoy tea, definitely do it.
The neighborhood is about a 10 minute Tuk Tuk ride from the main town of Weligama, which was a perfect distance. Better for relaxing but still accessible. And there are plenty of restaurants and small shops near Sundance where you can buy beer, food, water etc... (Highly recommend the potato chips made in coconut oil).
If you want to learn how to surf while enjoying the relaxing paradise-life of Sri Lanka, go to Sundance Surfcamp!! You will be happy you did.
Thanks for everything Sundance!

"Incredible value, amazing staff, we didn’t want to leave!"
Whilst we were booking we received quick and helpful responses from Johannes who was able to assist us with all our questions and requests.
I cannot rate our experience at the surf camp highly enough. The family were incredibly accommodating and couldn’t do enough to help us. The food was always fresh and delicious. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with a great view from the sunset terrace.
We had Kasun and Amil for our surf lessons and they were both great instructors and fun to be around. They were patient with us and everybody definitely progressed a lot!
The location is perfect if you are looking for a more chilled out vibe with easy access to the busier Weligama (10 minute tuk tuk away). The beach that’s a couple of minutes from the surf camp is quiet and very beautiful, the perfect place to relax when you’re not surfing. There are also lots of tasty cheap restaurants locally if you don’t fancy going in to town.
We stayed for a few days longer than planned and we will definitely be back!

I have an awesome experience in Sundance surf camp! Johannes was very helpful in helping me about the staying. Kasun is an excellent instructor who knows everything about the ocean. I was very beginner on the first day (almost 0 experience) but at the end of the camp, I caught the biggest wave in my whole stying! Also, the accommodation was very clean and I recommend everyone try this camp.

"Great surfcamp for all surf level"
We spend a week at the Sundance guesthouse and it's definitely a place we recommend to enjoy the sea and relax.
Kasun is an incredible human : wonderful surf teacher, great cooker, tuktuk driver sometimes, a funny energic guy's.
The room are very spacious and the bed comfortable and big!
Is close to the sea (100m) and quiet.
Breakfasts are quite huge : toast bread, fruits, eggs and hot drink.
Pizza are great (good after lot of rice and curry)

"Sehr gute erste Surferfahrungen mit freundlichem Personal ! "

"Surf lesson in a Paradise"
My time at Sundance Surf Camp was a dream. The accommodation are very clean, comfortable and located just a couple of minute walk from a quiet and deserted beach. The whole team working at Sundance was very welcoming and made me feel at home. The surf lessons were really good and I really felt like I progressed by the end of the week.

"Very nice experience! I loved Coconut Village."
Kansun and his family were very welcoming! I feel like at home.
Also very nice people around.
I decided to extend my stay!
from Finland, March 2019
When I first arrived I did not have any expectations, Kasun showed my room which was so beautiful with huge bed and looked like 5 star hotelroom. Surffing lessons started next morning and I learned a lot! Kasun is a very good teacher. One night we had fish/prawn BBQ at the beach and it was perfect. Place is also located in nice area, close to beach (and the water is so clear!)
from Indonesia, January 2019
