Accommodation
During the camp, you will be provided with accommodation in a guesthouse on Kata Hill close to the beach included in the package. After daily good surf sessions, have yourself a good night rest in tranquility away from all the hustle and bustle. The accommodation is nestled in one of the top spots in Phuket where you would be able to enjoy the panoramic view in Kata. A scooter will be provided for you to reach the beach (3 minutes) and it is included in the package.
Program
There would three hours of surf course each day. It would be divided into two sessions of one and a half hour each in the morning and afternoon. An experienced instructor would be there to guide you during the lesson. At SSS Phuket, the program adapts readily to the weather, the waves, and of course your needs and physical conditions. This way, you would be able to maximize your potential and unleash that surfer in you.
Surfing lessons
At SSS Phuket, age is not a limit for this program. If you want to learn, SSS Phuket will be more than willing to teach you the basic techniques of surfing lessons in Phuket. Once your surfing lessons scheduled, you need yo meet the team at the SSS Phuket’s shop. You will be asked to arrange your transportation to reach the location. On the other hand, SSS Phuket will be in charge of taking your surfboard to Kata Beach. Then, you will be in the instructor’s hands.
For the best surfing lesson, the teaching will be divided based on your experience. Beginners will learn how to take waves and stand up on the board during their first surfing lesson while the more advanced students can improve on their technique.
During your surfing lessons, the instructor will assure the success of your lesson, according to your own capabilities. The instructor will teach you the basis of the discipline. You will be able to stand on your board since the first lesson. Before going into the water, the instructor will proceed a briefing to explain you the basis of the surf. You will then determine which foot will support the most your balance once on your board.
After that, you will try to stand on the board on the beach. The aim will be to make you feel confident with your board. You will be able to picture the size of your board and find balance before practicing into the sea. Once in the water, the instructor will help you finding your balance on the board.
All along your lesson, the instructor will explain to you how to position yourself on the board. He will push you into waves so that you will be able to enjoy soon your first waves. After your first lesson, you will be able to enjoy your first waves by yourself. At the end of your course, nothing could be more simple as you deal with the surfboard. You just have to relax and enjoy the Andaman Sea’s delights.
Location
The retreat will take place in one of the most beautiful Phuket's beaches in Thailand, Kata Beach. This beach is specialized with its white sands, clear waters, and its surf-friendly waves.
Food
You need to arrange your own meals during this surfing camp. In Phuket, you will have numerous choices of meal you would like to have. Do not limit yourself and go taste the manifold of Thai food available.
Things to do (optional)
During your free time, you are encouraged to relax and join offered activities in Phuket. You could try scuba diving, free diving, or snorkeling with SSS Phuket at additional cost.
