Program
This four-day course includes theoretical learning, skills in the swimming pool, and four open water dives in the ocean. You will be given all the skills and knowledge to become a competent diver at a slow and relaxed pace that suits you. You will be provided all equipment and materials needed to complete the course, and you can even choose which language you’d like to learn in to make your experience more enjoyable and comfortable.

The PADI Open Water Diver course consists of three main phases:
Knowledge Development
Knowledge development (online / independent study / in a classroom) to understand basic principles of scuba diving.
Confined Water Dives
Confined water dives are to learn basic scuba skills.
Open Water Dives
Open water dives are to use your skills and explore.
Itinerary
Day 1: Check in at 12 p.m. - Koneswaram Hindu Temple - city tour - Uppuveli Beach
Once you arrive in Uppuveli, the guide will show you the village and beach around Uppuveli. You will check-in and meet the team.
In the spare time, you may relax on the beach, go snorkeling or whatever you like. You will start heading to Koneswaram Hindu Temple at 5:30 p.m. In the evening, after returning to the accommodation, you will enjoy a barbecue grilled dinner or Sri Lankan food and take a rest.
Day 2: Uppuveli - open water diving and theory lessons
You will begin your day by enjoying a breakfast buffet (a combination of Sri Lankan and western foods changing daily). You will have a beginners diving lessons or professional dive guiding at a diving school near the beach for almost three hours. Then, you can collect your basic equipment and start your practice with the diving teacher.

- Learn safety and how to use equipment
You will have buffet for lunch. In the spare time, you may relax on the beach, go snorkeling, or practice surfing in the afternoon. If you like, you can go watch the evening sunset locations on the beach and do yoga with a yoga teacher till the sun goes down. In the evening, you will enjoy barbecue grilled dinner or Sri Lankan food and take a rest.
Day 3: 2 diving lessons - Marble Beach tour
Wake up to a freshly prepared breakfast (Sri Lankan and western foods changing daily as you wish). This will be day two of your diving career, so slap on the sunscreen, take your theory and practical lesson at the theater, jump in a tuk-tuk, and head to the dive school for either a lesson or guided dive. The afternoon is yours for the taking.
In the evening, you will have a tuk tuk tour to Marble Beach and you can have a snorkeling session at the beautiful beach. Then, head back to camp. You will enjoy barbecue grilled dinner or Sri Lankan food and take a rest.
Day 4: 2 diving lessons - hot water wells
After your breakfast, you will have a diving lesson or professional dive guiding at the campsite. After this two dives and lunch time, Lankan Tour Hub (Pvt) Ltd. will provide you with equipment for free snorkeling today as well. Private lessons are available on this day.
In the afternoon at around 4 p.m., you will be heading to watch and bathe at the natural hot water wells located in Kinnia. You will return to the accommodations at around 6:30 p.m. and you will enjoy your evening with dinner while relaxing.
Day 5: Final exam - whale watching tour
Today, you will have an early bird tea with some fruits. At around 6:30 a.m., you will board the boat to start the whale watching tour. It will end before 9 a.m. Once you return to the accommodation, you will have your late breakfast.
After your breakfast, head to the dive school where you will have a final theory exam (1 hour). After this, all the lessons are finished and hopefully, you will dive on your own at a dive spot with the team.
You may explore Trincomalee, shop, relax at the beach, or go snorkeling. Tour Hub will have recommended optional adventures for you to do in the afternoons and enjoy the nightlife on the beach. Enjoy your own dinner and end the day with some well-deserved beers and rest as you wish.
Day 6: Snorkeling camp around Pigeon Island
Wake up to a freshly prepared breakfast (Sri Lankan and western foods changing daily as you wish). At 9 a.m., you will start heading to Pigeon Island by boat with your snorkeling equipment along with a mobile tent. The 20-minute journey will take you to the island and you will set up your camp at the beach according to your selection. You will have a snorkeling guide and you can go snorkeling around the island as you like with support of the guide.
The hotel will deliver the pre-ordered lunch to the campsite and you are free to taste your lunch in the camp site. You will stay till 5 p.m. at the campsite and you can do as you wish (snorkeling or resting). You will return to the accommodations at around 6 p.m. and you will enjoy your evening with dinner while relaxing.
Day 7: Tour ends - check out
Wake up to a freshly prepared breakfast (Sri Lankan and western foods changing daily as you wish). This will be the last day of your diving career with the team. Check out is by 11 a.m. Grab some photos in the surf camp to show off to your friends. Make sure you’ve got everyone on Facebook and say goodbye to your surf camp family. They miss you already.

Instructors
Ranga Shrimal
Ranga Shrimal is a host, the founder, and managing director of Lankan Tour Hub (Pvt) Ltd. He loves to meet friends from all around the world and make them his good friends for a lifetime. He was born in Negombo in 1988. He has always liked to surf and lives near the beach and nature. His home now is also located within the mountain range. There, he always finds peace through his meditation sessions. Ranga looks forward to welcoming you very much, and to talking and relaying the many things that he has learned in life, and at the same time learning too.
Sahan Damayantha
Sahan is a PADI Diving Instructor (License S407801). He was born in Weligama, a local Sri Lankan who knows all about the local scene and the diving instructing. He will make sure that everything is perfect for you to enjoy a great diving holiday in Sri Lanka. Currently, he is a diving instructor of a 5-star dive center in Weligama and your dive host as well as diving instructor since 2015. He loves to teach clients how to practice diving, offering great company at his place and an insight into my breathtaking culture.
Location
Sri Lanka is a great place to learn to dive with the PADI Open Water Diver course. The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver, PADI Enriched Air Diver, PADI Deep Diver, and PADI Wreck Diver courses are popular to dive many of the sites and wrecks off the coastline of Sri Lanka. You can also become a PADI Divemaster or PADI Instructor from this island paradise.
This dive camp will take place at Trincomalee beach's diving center in Uppuveli, Sri Lanka. The camp is located near the beach that will give you easy access to the diving spots. It is also less crowded, giving you a hassle-free time to learn properly or enjoy the waves to the fullest. As well as sunrise dive, the sunset snorkeling is the most awesome experience to do. This is also one of the best places to go dolphin watching during the whale season: April to October.
