Program
Course
This four-day course includes theoretical learning, skills in the swimming pool, and four open water dives in the ocean. You will be given all the skills and knowledge to become a competent diver at a slow and relaxed pace that suits you. You will be provided all equipment and materials needed to complete the course, and you can even choose which language you’d like to learn in to make your experience more enjoyable and comfortable.

- Time commitment: Approximately 8 - 15 hours course prerequisites

The PADI Open Water Diver course consists of three main phases:
Knowledge Development
Knowledge development (online / independent study / in a classroom) to understand basic principles of scuba diving.
Confined Water Dives
Confined water dives are to learn basic scuba skills.
Open Water Dives
Open water dives are to use your skills and explore.
Itinerary
Day 1: Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB) - Negambo Beach
Once you arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB), Sri Lankan Tour Hub’s guides will pick you up from the airport. Then, you will directly be transferred to the hotel at Negambo Beach, Sri Lanka.
Today, the guides will show you the city and beach around Negambo. You will check-in and you will enjoy seafood beach barbecue local foods and Sri Lankan style cocktails. Afterward, you can visit a beach or take a rest as you wish.
Day 2: Negambo - Trincomalee - Konesvaram Hindu Temple
You will begin your day by enjoying a breakfast buffet (a combination of Sri Lankan and western foods changing daily). Today, you will be transfer to the diving school and villa located at Trincomalee's Uppuveli Beach. The journey will take around 7 hours and 250 kilometers. You will have your lunch during the journey and you will stop at a reputed restaurant with a lake side view for lunch.
You will get to feel the nature of Sri Lanka during the journey like the forest, lakes, and animals. Once you've checked into the hotel, you can have a rest. When dawn comes, you will be traveling to Koneswaram Hindu Temple located nearby. At night, you will have a campfire on the beach and dinner will be Sri Lankan style barbecue. After that, you can spend time as you wish or you can take a rest.
Day 3: Snorkeling camp around Pigeon Island
Wake up to a freshly prepared breakfast (of both Sri Lankan and western foods changing daily as you wish). At 9 a.m., you will start heading to Pigeon Island by boat with your snorkeling equipment along with a mobile tent. The 20-minute journey will take you to the island and you will set up your camp at the beach according to your selection. You will have a snorkeling guide and you can be snorkeling around the island as you like with the support of the guide.
The hotel will deliver the pre-ordered lunch to the campsite and you are free to taste your lunch at the campsite. You will stay till 4 p.m. at the campsite and you can do as you wish (like snorkeling or resting). You will return to the accommodation at around 5 p.m. and you will enjoy your evening with dinner while relaxing.
Day 4: 2 diving sessions at Suwami Rocks and Cave - snorkeling at Marble Beach
Wake up to a freshly prepared breakfast (of both Sri Lankan and western foods changing daily as you wish). This will be day 1 of your diving career. The diving class starts at 9 a.m. for beginners while intermediate or advanced divers will be transferred to the diving spot directly. Take your theory and practical lesson on the beach and shallow water. At around 12 p.m., the session will end for the day and you will be back to the accommodation for lunch.
In the evening, you will have a tuk tuk tour to Marble Beach and you can have snorkeling sessions at the beautiful beach. Then, head back to camp and you will enjoy a barbecue grilled dinner or Sri Lankan food and take a rest.
Day 5: Whale watching tour - tour ends
Wake up to a freshly prepared breakfast (of both Sri Lankan and western foods changing daily as you wish). Today, you will have an early bird tea with some fruits. At around 6:30 a.m., you will take the boat to start the whale watching tour. It will end before 9 a.m. and once you return to the accommodation, you will have your late breakfast. This will be the last day of your diving career with the team. Check out is by 12 p.m. Grab some photos in the surf camp to show off to your friends. Make sure you’ve got everyone on Facebook and say goodbye to your surf camp family. They miss you already.

Instructors
Ranga Shrimal
Ranga Shrimal is a host, the founder, and managing director of Lankan Tour Hub (Pvt) Ltd. He loves to meet friends from all around the world and make them his good friends for a lifetime. He was born in Negombo in 1988. He has always liked to surf and lives near the beach and nature. His home now is also located within the mountain range. There, he always finds peace through his meditation sessions. Ranga looks forward to welcoming you very much, and to talking and relaying the many things that he has learned in life, and at the same time learning too.
Sahan Damayantha
Sahan is a PADI Diving Instructor (License S407801). He was born in Weligama, a local Sri Lankan who knows all about the local scene and the diving instructing. He will make sure that everything is perfect for you to enjoy a great diving holiday in Sri Lanka. Currently, he is a diving instructor of a 5-star dive center in Weligama and your dive host as well as diving instructor since 2015. He loves to teach clients how to practice diving, offering great company at his place and an insight into my breathtaking culture.

Sri Lanka is a great place to learn to dive with the PADI Open Water Diver course. The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver, PADI Enriched Air Diver, PADI Deep Diver, and PADI Wreck Diver courses are popular to dive many of the sites and wrecks off the coastline of Sri Lanka. You can also become a PADI Divemaster or PADI Instructor from this island paradise.
This dive camp will take place at Trincomalee beach's diving center in Uppuveli, Sri Lanka. The camp is located near the beach that will give you easy access to the diving spots. It is also less crowded, giving you a hassle-free time to learn properly or enjoy the waves to the fullest. As well as sunrise dive, the sunset snorkeling is the most awesome experience to do. This is also one of the best places to go dolphin watching during the whale season: April to October.
