Requirements
- Age: 14 years or older
- Time commitment: Approximately eight to 15 hours of course prerequisites
- Able to swim
- Medically fit for diving and surfing
- Note: For each dive and surf, it is required to complete a knowledge review - reading a small chapter in the manual and answering some questions that will be provided for you.

Level 1 surfing lesson
Level 1 surfing lesson is designed for the complete beginner and for those who have not tried surfing and have not been able to catch a wave by themselves. You will learn surfing with the right techniques accompanied by friendly and experienced surfing instructors at the My Surf Camp. One instructor will guide a maximum of two persons. This is for first-timers; this shorter beginner's class is recommended, as surfing is a physically demanding sport and can be quite tiring.
Level 2 surfing lesson
Level 2 surfing lesson is designed for the surfers who can catch a wave in the white water but want to continue to progress their surfing and learn safety tips, tricks, how to go to the lineup, how to catch a green wave properly, and turn so they can improve from a beginner surfing level to an intermediate one.
Daily itinerary
Day 1: Colombo Airport - Weligama Bay
Once you arrive at Colombo International Airport (CMB), Sri Lankan Tour Hub’s guides will pick you up from the airport. Then, you will directly be transferred to the surf camp in Weligama, Sri Lanka via E01 Sothern Express Highway. On this day, the guides will show you the city and beach around Weligama. You will check in and meet the team. There, you will enjoy seafood beach barbecue local foods, and Sri Lankan-style cocktails. Afterward, you can visit a beach or take a rest as you wish.
Day 2: Weligama Bay - PADI discover diving and theory lessons - sunset surf lesson (5:00 p.m.)
You will begin your day by enjoying a breakfast buffet, a combination of Sri Lankan and Western foods (changing daily). You will have beginner's diving lessons or professional dive guides at a diving school near the beach for almost three hours. You can collect your basic equipment and start your practice with the diving teacher.

You will have a buffet for lunch. In your spare time, you may relax on the beach, go snorkeling, or go shopping, After 5:00 p.m., you are free to practice surfing with a My Surf Camp surf instructor till the sun goes down at 6:30 p.m. You will also be provided with surfboards for free surfing in the evening. You also have a chance to see an evening sunset at the same point as well. After this, you will have your dinner with the barbecue on the beach. You can have your rest or go to a party and enjoy music in the night as per your choice.
Day 3: Mirissa Moray Point (two dives) - Back to Weligama Beach
Mirissa Moray Point is just outside of Mirissa Harbour. Spotted are, among many others, angelfish, parrotfish, groupers and giant pufferfish, whale shark, turtle, and triggerfish. Maximum depth is 17 meters. Wake up to a freshly prepared breakfast of both Sri Lankan and Western foods changing daily as you wish. This will be day seven of your diving career, so slap on the sunscreen, take your theory and practical lesson at the theater (the theory is every day and can be before or after the dive session), jump in a vehicle, and head to the dive school for either a lesson or guided dive in Mirissa Moray Point.
After discovering diving, you will visit Mirissa Beach restaurants to have lunch. In your spare time, you may relax on the beach, go snorkeling, or go shopping. You also have a chance to see a sunset at the same point as well. After this, you will have your dinner with the barbecue on the beach. You can have your rest or go to a party and enjoy music in the night as per your choice.
Day 4: Weligama - Surfing lesson - Tour ends
After your breakfast, you will have a surfing lesson or professional surf guiding at the campsite and be provided with surfboards for free surfing. You will have a traditional Sri Lankan breakfast with local foods. After all the lessons are finished, hopefully, you will be able to catch your own dive or surf at your own dive or surf spot. Check-out is by 11:00 a.m. Grab some photos to show off to your friends. Make sure you have got everyone on Facebook and Instagram and say goodbye to your dive camp family. They miss you already.

Ranga Shrimal
Ranga Shrimal is a host, the founder, and managing director of Lankan Tour Hub (Pvt) Ltd. He loves to meet friends from all around the world and make them his good friends for a lifetime. He was born in Negombo in 1988. He has always liked to surf and live near the beach and nature. His home now is also located within the mountain range. There, he always finds peace through his meditation sessions. Ranga looks forward to welcoming you very much, and to talking and relaying the many things that he has learned in life, and at the same time learning too.
Sahan Damayantha
Sahan is a PADI Diving Instructor (License S407801). He was born in Weligama, a local Sri Lankan who knows all about the local scene and the diving instructing. He will make sure that everything is perfect for you to enjoy a great diving holiday in Sri Lanka. Currently, he is a diving instructor of a 5-star dive center in Weligama and your dive host as well as diving instructor since 2015. He loves to teach clients how to practice diving, offering great company at his place and an insight into my breathtaking culture.
Location
The surf camp will take place at My Surf Camp Surf School in Weligama, Sri Lanka. The camp is located on the beach, which gives you easy access to the surfing spots. It is also less crowded, giving you a hassle-free time to learn to surf properly or enjoy the waves to the fullest. In addition to sunrise surf, sunset surf is the most awesome experience. The dive camp will take place at Weligama Bay Diving Center in Weligama, Sri Lanka.
The camp is located near the beach which will give you easy access to the surfing spots. It is also less crowded, giving you a hassle-free time to learn to surf properly or enjoy the waves to the fullest. As well as sunrise surf, the sunset surf is the most awesome experience to do. Here is also one of the best places to go dolphin watching during the whale season: November - April.
