Arrive at the Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB) and transfer to Hikkaduwa, a seaside resort town in southwestern Sri Lanka. It’s known for its strong surf and beaches, including palm-dotted Hikkaduwa Beach, lined with restaurants and bars, and Hikkaduwa Coral Sanctuary, located a few hundred meters offshore. The sanctuary has approximately 70 varieties of multi-colored corals and is home to marine turtles and exotic fish.
Hikkaduwa Beach is reputed as the second best surfing spot in Sri Lanka for over 25 years. The rest of the day is for leisure on the beach or for exploration on your own and in the evening, enjoy the welcome dinner in a local restaurant.

Leave after breakfast for Weligama, on the south coast of Sri Lanka. There will be an optional en route visit to the Old Duct, Fort Galle, Turtle Farm, and Stick Fishermen. The Galle Fort is the best preserved of the many Dutch Forts located around the country and truly allows a glimpse into Sri Lanka’s Colonial past.
The tiny guesthouses and restaurants located on quaint, narrow, cobblestoned streets which crisscross the fort make it easy to imagine what life must have been like during the Dutch colonization. A sunset walk along the magnificent ramparts, which once fortified this town, will be a spectacular start of exploring Sri Lanka. There will be optional excursions for Sri Lankan Cookery Demonstration in a truly Sri Lankan old-fashioned kitchen.
The name Weligama literally means "sandy village," which refers to the area's sandy sweep bay and another best point for surf lovers. Thereafter, enjoy three hours of surf session with a well-experienced surf instructor in Weligama Bay.

Jonty is a great instructor and an outstanding surfer. He uses an intuitive technical approach with those he coaches and draws on a huge ability to record and analyze almost instantly the progress of his students. He is a born surfer from Hikkaduwa and he is 22 years old. He started his instructing career when he was 17 years. Though he is very young, his surfing instructing career is outstanding.
Nila is an experienced surfer and passionate coach. He has a great success rate of getting people up and riding on the board. Nila is a very open and friendly character and is surfing by himself all the time. He has a boundless energy and enthusiasm for people. He is 39 years old and has been coaching for almost 15 years now.
Mia was born in Hikkaduwa Southern Sri Lanka. He loves the ocean and he is a born surf lover. Mia started his surf lesson career when he was 24 years old. Now he's gotten a few surf schools in Hikkaduwa and Arugambay too. He is a vastly experienced surf instructor from Hikkaduwa and he’s been surfing for over 15-20 years and coaching for over 10 years.

Weligama is a town on the south coast of Sri Lanka, literally means "sandy village" which refers to the area's sandy sweep bay and another best point for surf lovers.
Weligama is recognised for its beeralu lace-making. First introduced by the Portuguese in the 16th century lace-making has remained a traditional handicraft along the coastal area of Weligama, with a number of households producing crochet and tatting lace.
The area is also famous for its distinct stilt fishermen, who erect a single pole in the chest-deep water on the beach, just few meters off-shore, where they perch on a cross bar and using bamboo fishing rods cast their lines out beyond the surf break to catch small fish. Weligama is is approximately 50 kilometers from Hikkaduwa (one and a half hour).
Mirissa is a small town on the south coast of Sri Lanka, and is situated at an elevation of 4 meters (13 feet) above sea level. Mirissa's beach and nightlife make it a popular tourist destination. It is also a fishing port and Mirissa is one of the best place for whale watching in Sri Lanka, where you can spot migrating blue, sperm, bryde and fin whales as well as dolphins.

There will be an optional excursion for Sri Lankan cookery demonstration. You will experience in this cookery demonstration all about picking up your own choices of vegetables from the local farmer's garden. Then move to the old fashioned, beautiful natured surrounded kitchen. Your demonstrator will be a two decades experienced, food and beverage manager from hospitality trade. He will be waiting with a recipe book which includes over 20 recipes of Sri Lankan curries and spices, who wrote it by his own hand with help of old Sri Lankan brains.
The chef will teach you about the cookery and spices first and also the usage. Then you can cook your own curries. The chef will lead you; how to do all these and also the hidden secrets too. On your cooking, you will get to know how to cook the curry for your measure of spices. Then you can enjoy your own cooked Sri Lankan rice and curry lunch.
