Sintra Sol is an emblematic enterprise of the region of Sintra, located at the mouth of Ribeira das Maçãs on Praia das Maçãs to the north and south, with Colares, Monserrate, and the Serra de Sintra. Situated on Praia das Maçãs, a place that combines the tranquility of the hills with the smell of the sea; Sintra Sol offers its guests a fantastic sea view from their apartments and also allowing them to enjoy the smell of the sea while enjoying the sun in one of the fantastic swimming pools.
The Sintra Sol apartments are fully equipped to meet the needs of their customers on a daily basis. It is possible to make your own meals and dinner while overlooking a wonderful sunset or enjoy the natural light while reading a good book overlooking the pool.
T0 apartments sleep two to four people and have a sea view, double bed or two single beds and two sofa beds, bathroom, meal table, full kitchenette, cable TV, DVD, Wi-Fi, free private parking, and pool use.
T1 apartments sleep two to four people and have a sea or garden view, double bed or two single beds and two sofa beds, bathroom, meal table, full kitchenette, cable TV, DVD, Wi-Fi, free private parking, and pool use.
T2 apartments sleep four to six people and have a sea or garden view, double bed, two single beds, and 2 sofabeds, bathroom, meal table, full kitchenette, cable TV, DVD, Wi-Fi, free private parking, and pool use.
At Sintra Sol, there are two swimming pools available which are supplied with salt water. One of the pools is Olympic size and contains still slides and a jumping reception area, while another was built to think of the younger ones and has a shorter designated pool size for children. The swimming pool is open to the public from June 1 to September 15.
The space around the swimming pools is vast and varied, there is, at the guests' disposal, a zone of loungers by the pools and a lawn for those who prefer contact with grass. Another option is the terrace by the main pool where it is possible to have a lighter meal or a simple snack.
Sintra offers a bit of everything, from palaces and manor houses to the densely wooded slopes of the mountains, to gardens and romantic and exotic parks, from churches and monuments to excellent restaurants. Declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, it attracts thousands of visitors throughout the year, but there are always quiet and secluded corners between the tree lushness of the hills and the lush vegetation of its gardens.
But you should not be satisfied with this, because the county still has much more to offer, the amazing and romantic gardens that surround the Palace of Monserrate, the spectacular views of the Atlantic coastline from the peaks of the Sintra Mountains, the Palace of Seteais, the charming village of Colares (where a famous wine is produced), the beaches and restaurants of Praia das Maçãs and Praia Grande, or Cabo da Roca.
After seeing all these wonders, you can perhaps go to Várzea and choose one of its restaurants to delight in cod or roast kid, finishing the meal with the sweet specialty of the region, the Queijadas, small cakes of cheese and cinnamon, of Sintra.
Praia das Maçãs owes its name to the fact that the river that flows there once ran between apple orchards so the fruits when it was ripe, fell in the water and went to the beach. Around the area, there are several shops from restaurants to cafes and bars and local handicraft houses, so the place became a meeting place for the Sintra people, who enjoy their esplanades and excellent food either during summer or winter.
