Sibon Jaya
Sibon Jaya is a 70-feet Aluminum Power Catamaran built in 2015 especially for boat trips in Indonesia. The boat was designed by the Australian legend Robert Wilson, who came for the first time to Indonesia in 1974. As his seventh boat, Robert brought to Sibon Jaya all the experience he had on the last decades, combining speed, comfort, safety and many luxury details to deliver the best and most comfort surf experience anyone could have on the Mentawai.
The boat has Twin Cummins QSB 6.7 engines, delivering speed up to 13 knots. The boats two Onan 13.5 kilovolt-amps generators are totally silent (you won’t listen to them anytime). It has 10 tons of fuel capacity, 6 tons of water capacity, and a water maker that can make 400 liters per hour.
Sibon Jaya has also four solar panels to ensure your hot shower on all four suite’s bathroom and all the technology needed to keep you safe! They are so keen to give you safety that all the engine rooms are equipped with security cameras which allows the mechanical engineer to check the engine room 24 hours a day.
The luxury begins inside the dining room ends in the suites. All rooms are equipped with 220-Volt plugs around all beds, reading lights, and luxury linens. They ensure you will feel like on a five-stars bed. All doors and walls are sound insulated from the engine room noise and you also won’t hear the water hitting outside the hull when anchored.
All bathrooms have hot showers and Japanese bidet system on all toilets. On the upper deck, rear, you will enjoy a large area with many sofas and a lot of space to rest and lay down watching the waves and sunset. To not compromise the guest’s comfort, all the indoor spaces are air-conditioned. The boat is equipped with a sound system and a spacious dining room with TV LCD 42 inch and a DVD player. It also has also one more big bathroom outside and the guests are welcome to use anytime the complimentary outdoor entertainment equipment (fishing gear, two kayaks, snorkels, and stand up paddle).
One of the biggest concerns of Sibon Company is the hygiene and organization of the boat. Every day, after you leave the boat and go surf, Sibon Charters will make the room service, including organizing and cleaning all your room and bathroom. Sibon Charters value the perfect cleaning of every ambient.
Sibon Baru
Sibon Baru (ex Bohemian Baru) is a 62 feet aluminum catamaran built especially for surf trips on the Mentawai Islands. This is a more affordable yacht, built-in 2013 with lots of space and for sure the best boat in its price range. Sibon Baru is also a brand-new boat, with engines, gen sets, air-conditioners, and all structures ready to give you comfort and performance.
Sibon Charters made a big refit on the boat, making all cabins private, remodeling the kitchen, installing new ACs, new sofa, and extending the upper deck to provide more space and comfort to guests. The main goal is to take surfers to catch the best waves and barrels in the world without compromising comfort and safety.
Program
Sibon Jaya and Baru depart from Padang harbor on Sumatra Islands. As soon as you arrive on the airport, you don't have to worry about anything else. A member of Sibon Charters team will be waiting for you and your friends on the arrival, forwarding your luggage and board bags to the harbor in a special big vehicle.
Passengers will be transferred on an air-conditioned and comfortable van. Don't forget your International Certificate of Vaccination against Yellow Fever (ICV), which is mandatory in Indonesia (if you come from a high risk country). If your flight arrives too early before the boat departure, the team will take you to Bonsai Surf Lodge, another partner of Sibon Charters that is ready to accommodate you as long as necessary, with no additional cost. The lodge offers restaurant service and free use of pool and internet access.
Sibon's crew is formed by six people. The captain has an amazing experience and knowledge of all the spots on north of Indonesia. The chef, that is working with Sibon Charters since 2012, has a long experience of years cooking on many other charter boats. He has magic hands and makes gourmet and unforgettable meals.
The mechanic engineer is very experienced and worked for many years in many other boats as well on the islands and have a deep and specific knowledge of Sibon's engines and machines. The crew also has two more deckhands. One of them is in charge of the daily cleaning and room service and the other one is all day long ready to take our guests to the waves and beaches with the dingy (assistant boat).
Sibon also has a photographer and videomaker, extremely competent and dedicated, ready all day to register all those special moments of the trip. He is compromised to take pictures of surf sessions, from inside the water, from the dingy or from the land, as well as register many lifestyle moments of the guests.
Besides that, he is your surf guide, he knows the Mentawai really well and by analyzing the weekly swell and considering the guest’s preferences will guide the boat to the best wave of the day. The main goal is to surf perfect waves with no crowd! That’s the Sibon Charters' daily mission.
Photos and videos
The photos and videos package is optional and paid directly to the photographer on the boat at the end of the trip. It's important to bring a pen drive of at least 8 GB or an external HD, so you can save your images with safety.

On Sibon, all meals are included as well as beverages like juices, isotonics, soft drinks, tea, coffee, and beer (24 beers per person - if you wish more, Sibon Charters will get your order before departure and charge the local price, alternatively, passengers are welcome to stock up on beer or any other drink of choice, at local prices prior to departure). With high quality and selected ingredients, such as fresh fish, lobster, prawn, squids, lamb, fresh vegetables, the chef prepares three daily big meals.
Your breakfast would include your choice of eggs, pancakes, fresh fruit salad, yogurt, selection of bread, cakes, cheeses, cereals, coffee, juices, and what else you desire, as much as you want. Lunch would include healthy and nutritious meals, chef's choice. This meal is usually a light and healthy meal, for a special reason Sibon Charters don't want the guests without energy for the afternoon's surf session.
For that reason, it's important to eat easy-to-digest meals. After an intense and perfect surf day, for dinner, the chef will make a big, delicious and well-elaborated meal, with many options of protein, carbs, salads, fresh vegetables, all made with selected and high-quality ingredients. Besides these three big meals, Sibon Charters offer as well a variety of snacks to eat at any time of the day and as much as you want. Cookies, fruits, yogurt, nuts, bread, jelly, peanut butter, a selection of high-quality chocolates, cereals, biscuits, and much more. Just make yourself at home and eat whatever you want, anytime.
