Sibon Baru is a 62 feet aluminum catamaran built specially for surf trips on the Mentawai Islands. The main goal is to take surfers to catch the best waves and barrels in the world without compromising comfort and safety. Sibon Baru is also a brand-new boat, with engines, gensets, air-conditioners, and all structure ready to give you comfort and performance.
Sibon Baru also has a very modern navigation system, which includes marine VHF, SSB radio, radar, depth sounder, compass e GPS / Plotter, complete system with 15 fire extinguishers and fire hoses, two EPIRB (emergency position- indicating radio beacons), life-raft up to 25 people, 20 life jackets which are strategically placed throughout the boat and an evacuated plan in case of an emergency.
Sibon Charters are so keen to give you the safety that all the engine rooms have câmeras which allow the crew to see the engine room 24 hours a day and to not compromise the guest’s comfort, Sibon Baru has also air-conditioned cabins (all internal ambient on the boat have air conditioning).
The boat also has three bathrooms, a spacious room with television LCD 42 inches, DVD player, snorkel, and stand-up paddle for free use. One of the biggest concerns of Sibon is the hygiene and organization of the boat.
Every day, after you leave the boat and go surf, the crew member, trained specially for this service will clean your room and make your bed. The bathrooms are cleaned twice a day. The Sibon prizes for perfect cleaning of all boat. The sheets are changed during the trip and there are also two big towels per client.
Program
The Sibon Baru departs from Padang on Sumatra Islands. As soon as you arrive at the airport, you don’t have to worry about anything else. A member of Sibon team will be waiting for you and your friends on the arrival, forwarding your luggage and board bags to the harbor in a special vehicle.
Passengers will be transferred to a climatized and comfortable van. Don’t forget your international certificate of vaccination against yellow fever (ICV), which is mandatory in Indonesia (if you come from a high-risk country).
If your flight arrives too early before departure, Sibon Charters’ team will take you to the homestay, another partner of Sibon that is ready to accommodate you as long as necessary, with no additional cost. The homestay also offers restaurant service and free internet access. Sibon’s crew is formed by six people.
The captain has an amazing background and knowledge of all the spots in the north of Indonesia. The chef that has worked on many other charter boats on the Mentawai islands has magic hands and makes delicious and well-elaborated meals.
The mechanic is very experienced and worked for many years in various boats on the islands and has deep knowledge of Sibon’s engines and machines. The boat also has two more deckhands to do the daily cleaning and take the clients to the waves with the ding (assistant boat).
The Sibon also has a photographer and video maker who is extremely competent and dedicated, doing beautiful shots from inside the water. Besides that, he is the surf guide of the boat and knows the Mentawai really well by analyzing the weekly swell takes Sibon to the best waves option, always according to the client's preferences.
Photos and videos
The photos and videos package is optional and paid directly to the photographer on the boat at the end of the trip. It’s important to bring a pen drive of at least eight gigabytes or an external hard disk, so you can save your images with safety.
Note:
It is necessary that your flight to Padang arrives in Padang until 3 p.m. on the departure day and leaves after 1 p.m. on the day the boat gets back to Padang.

On Sibon all meals are included as well as beverages like juices, isotonic, soft drinks, tea, coffee, and beer. 24 beer cans per person. If you wish more, it will have an additional cost. With high quality and selected ingredients, such as fish, lobsters, prawns, squids, lamb, fresh vegetables, the chef prepares three daily meals.
Besides these three big meals, Sibon offers a variety of snacks to eat at any time of the day and as much as you want. Cookies, fruits, yogurt, nuts, bread, jelly, peanut butter, chocolates, cereals, biscuits, and much more.
Breakfast
Omelet, bacon, pancakes, fruit salad, yogurt, bread, cereals, coffee, juices, cake, and what else you desire, as much as you want.
Lunch
Healthy and nutritious meals, chef’s choice. This meal is usually lighter, for a special reason as they do not want the clients without energy for the afternoon’s surf. Because of that, it’s important to not eat heavy food.

After an intense and perfect surf day, the chef will make a delicious and well-elaborated meal, with selected, and high-quality ingredients.
