Your home from home during your stay with Shaka Surf Morocco will be the beautiful surf riad accommodation which is based in the heart of Tamraght village at just a short 10-minute walk to the beach and less than 5 minutes walk to the local shops and cafes - we think it's the perfect spot!
The traditional Moroccan riad layout of our accommodation means that all the rooms are based off a central courtyard surrounding a peaceful pool and garden, as well as two beautiful roof terraces offering great communal areas to relax and socialize. All rooms are en-suite with bed linen, shower towels and daily servicing provided.
The beginner surf package is ideal for first-time surfers. Shaka Surf Morocco provide you with all the surf kit, lessons, and theory to help you spend a week progressing on the waves. Shaka Surf Morocco's priority is to make sure you learn to surf in a safe and supportive environment, with group sizes of no more than four students per instructor.
The surf lessons with the experienced coaches are aimed at newcomers to surfing, providing a thorough introduction from theory all the way through to practice. The lessons will cover the all-important first steps to get you going, starting on the beach and then moving into the water, teaching you how to handle the surfboard, safety in the water, how to read the ocean conditions, paddling, and most importantly catching those waves! Shaka Surf Morocco hopes that after a week of lessons, you will have not only discovered a new passion for surfing but made new friends and shared some great memories.
Discover a different side of Morocco as you step away from the ocean and head inland, driving forty minutes through the Atlas Mountains to reach Paradise Valley. This spot is famous for its natural beauty with an abundance of wildlife, palm trees, rivers, natural water pools and water slides. After a short hike down into the valley, you will have free time to explore the surroundings, go for a swim, soak up some rays, and dare you to do a rock jump? A traditional tagine lunch will be taken in one of the poolside cafes, giving you the chance to refuel and take some shade before heading back out.
Imsouane is home to the longest right-hand wave in Morocco and the favorite surf day trip! This traditional fishing village is approximately a 90-minute drive from the surf camp, along with the coastal road to the north. On entering the village, you will be greeted by the mix of its traditional fishing village roots and budding surf culture. This surf spot is home to two breaks, The Bay which has the longest wave in Morocco and The Cathedral - both are suitable for all level of surfers and work on opposite tides which means you can spend the morning surfing one spot, eat lunch, and then hop over to the over spot.
Hassan is a local from Tamraght with over 15 years of surf experience as well as being ISA (International Surf Association) qualified and RLSS (Royal Life Saving Society) certified. You couldn't be in safer hands in the water! He is known for his patience, support, and encouragement when teaching and also his cheeky smile. He is also in the know with all the best spots to eat and a pro at building beach bonfires!
Boba is also a local from Tamraght and knows the surf spots like the back of his hand. He is ISA (International Surf Association) qualified and RLSS (Royal Life Saving Society) certified. He is known for his calm, patient and knowledgable teaching style and is a fan of those bigger waves making him also a perfect match for not only our surf lessons, but our more advanced surfers.
Shaka Surf Morocco is a friendly all-level surf school and surf camp based in the relaxed surf village of Tamraght which is nestled on the sunny south coast, 30 minutes from Agadir. Morocco is famed for its consistent year-round surf breaks and with access to over fifteen different surf spots ranging from beginner to pro, there's something for every ability.
All surf packages include all of your meals, breakfast, lunch, and dinner! The day starts with a tasty and delicious breakfast buffet with a range of food options including eggs, cereals, bread, spreads and fresh seasonal fruits as well as tea, coffee, and juices. The lunch is picnic-style at the beach with a mix of sandwiches, salads, and pasta along with a selection of seasonal fruits, nuts, and dates. Lastly, dinners - they are big, hearty and packed with healthy Moroccan produce and flavors.

Shaka Surf Morocco believe that yoga and surfing are a beautiful combination which is why they offer daily 60-minute vinyasa flow classes for all abilities. Join them on the mat to stretch out and loosen up those surfing muscles, a perfect way to round off your day of surfing - mind, body, and soul.
With a great established partnership with a local stables where all horses are well cared for and housed just a short 10 minute drive from the Shaka Surf house. They offer beautiful sunset horseback rides along the beach for all levels of experience - walk, trot, canter or gallop, there are rides and horses for all levels.
The large bustling Agadir Souk is located at just a quick 20 minute from the surf house and a great way to pass an afternoon walking around the indoor and outdoor market stalls and exploring the wide range of traditional crafts, spices, and foods. Test your bargaining skills, sample teas and pick up some truly unique Moroccan souvenirs.
Aourir, also known by locals as Banana Village due to the banana plantations and many stalls adorning the streets, is the neighbouring village. Every Wednesday the local market day offers up a very traditional Moroccan souk experience. Join for a shopping experience like a local! Stroll around this marketplace with it's abundance of stalls selling the best seasonal produce, alongside nuts, dried fruits, olives as well as rugs and jewelry galore. We love the Wednesday souk!
A massage is a great way to treat yourself after all your surfing - why not indulge in a full body massage, choosing from a relaxing massage through to something a little stronger. Want to go a little more into the traditional culture, then book yourself a traditional Moroccan hammam and scrub in the private steam room where black olive soap and gommage are used to scrub and massage the skin, removing any dead skin, leaving your skin feeling smooth and nourished.

Join for a morning or afternoon trip exploring the local surrounds by quad bike - take in the views from the beach up to the mountain tops!
Take a day to explore the beautifully relaxed seaside town of Essaouira, known for its arts scene, laid-back bohemian vibe, and delicious fresh fish. Take a walk around the outer medina of the town and explore the ancient seafront ramparts and old brass canons lining these protective walls. The peaceful inner medina offers up a maze of streets home to many galleries, shops, and cafes. Last but not least, don't forget to visit the vibrant fishing port and sample some of the day's local catch at the fish market.

The nearest airport is Agadir Al Massira (AGA) which is well connected to many mainland European cities, with a wide range of flight carriers including Easyjet, RyanAir, and Transavia offering daily and weekly routes. This airport is just a 45-minute drive to the village of Tamraght where Shaka Surf Morocco is based.
Alternatively, Marrakech airport is roughly a three and a half hour drive, or Essaouira a two and a half hour drive. If you choose to fly to Marrakech or Essaouira, then you can either take a local bus to get to Shaka Surf Morocco (information below), or Shaka Surf Morocco can help arrange you a taxi transfer.
If you are already traveling around Morocco, or are flying into Marrakech or Essaouira the bus is the easiest and cheapest option to get to Shaka Surf Morocco. There are two bus companies which they would recommend you take, either Supratours or CTM these are the larger Moroccan inter-city bus companies.
