"The best surf instructors for teaching"

I’ve surfed in Hawaii, Bali, Florida, Maryland, and Jacó a few years ago, but the team of Creighton, Antony, and Juan in Jacó stood out above all the others. They taught us the fundamentals of positioning, wave theory, board placement, and provided long, productive sessions with valuable feedback. Beyond their expertise, they were genuinely pleasant to be around, making the experience far superior to the previous five camps I attended.

"Don’t think twice, book it! Amazing place to learn surfing!"

We booked the double surf and stayed in a private room with bathroom. The surf lessons were organised perfectly. You get your own schedule based on tide times at the start of the week; boards, transport and everything else is taken care of for you. The surf spot at Jaco beach is absolutely gorgeous - just don‘t forget your zinc sun cream! The surf instructors were EXCELLENT, very knowledgeable, patient, accommodating for all skill levels, and super friendly. Big shout out to Juan and Crayton in particular - we really learned a lot from you guys! :)

The hostel is beautiful. It is noticeable that the owners have put a lot of work and effort into making it a welcoming and relaxing place. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, and there’s always hot coffee waiting in the kitchen - much needed and appreciated in between the surf sessions ;) And even though we didn’t take the Spanish classes, we joined a trip to a national park, organised by the Spanish teacher, Fernanda.

Last but not least, we want to mention the other travelers. We met so many amazing people from all over the world and shared special memories together. It was a blast. The School of the World gets a HUGE recommendation from us!

"Surf, Photo, Yoga, fun"

Everything exceeded expectations! Super quiet, super clean, super comfort accommodations. Last minute booking for us, an older couple that likes adventure. We are better surfers, better picture takers, and feeling relaxed from yoga. Jaco is a great town with lots of food options and walking areas. Arrived as a couple and left with a new family at School of the World. Special shout out to Cyn for immediate responses to all our questions and needs!! Sergio was an amazing photo instructor who met all needs day 1, I’m so excited to use my new learnings on my camera. And print the amazing pics we took all week. Thanks

I booked one week of double surf in the school of the world. I had already surfed before but was still quite a beginner. I definetely improved a lot with that surfcamp! The double surf was a lot for me physically but I think it really helped me develop my strength and muscles. I even decided to book another week of surf because I was having such a good time in the waves and improving a lot! I had 2 instructors during those weeks, Carlos and Anthony, both were super nice and friendly, with them I really worked on the technique, and the difference between my first and my last day was really impressive! And waves in Jaco were just amazing for my level. If I had had more time, I would probably have stayed longer in the school of the world!

As for the accomadation, it was great, nicely located in Jaco, very clean, a big kitchen with everything you need to cook, a great common area and a nice pool to relax after surf! The bedrooms were perfect too. And the whole staff of the school is great and friendly! I strongly recommend the school of the world and would love to come back if I return to Costa Rica!
