"I enjoyed the seclusion of the retreat and the size. The personal touch that is placed on the guests by the staff and Mike and Janel is very special and unique. Evening sit down dinners with their wonderfully selected and crafted menu was always something to look forward to."

"Loved everything about Sansara!!! The location, community it's located within, the rooms, amenities, yoga and surf. couldn't have gotten better - oh except more hooks to hang things in the room! I loved our outdoor shower too!! Kudos Mike, Janelle and Tim for creating and fostering such a beautiful space and allowing others to share it with you! Much love and gratitude!"

"Everything was, staff, yoga, surfing, weather, atmosphere, safety... the staff are wonderful! The surfing staff accommodate a spectrum of ages and abilities and is equally enthusiastic with everyone. I went in 2016, and in 2017, and I plan on returning. This is a place that will keep you coming back for more!"

"This place and the team that makes it possible - they're just incredible. Between my work travel and ever-growing list of places I want to visit on my own (and struggle to cram in the latter!), it's beyond rare for me to circle back to a place. When I left Sansara last August however, I promised I'd be back and somehow I had the great fortune to do so less than 5 months later. Everything from my previous review holds and then some. If it's possible, the food and drink got even better (I am vegetarian with occasional seafood). The menus evolve but if you're a mezcal fan... look for the El Dorado. Amazing. I had the remarkable opportunity to stay in the newest cabana this time. Prana. Super private, beach front (I wandered out to the waves each night to take in the millions of stars above), beautiful decor (think eco-friendly jungle chic meets mid century modern), and thoughtful details from ample towels, to perfectly placed hooks, coffee and tea, luxurious shower heads, available outlets next to the bed, and hammocks galore. These guys have excellent taste and put so much thought into making the perfect setting a reality. The people! One major difference over my last visit is that I arrived this time on the tail end of a surf/yoga retreat. So while the vibe was a bit different for the couple days of overlap because there were almost 20 other guests... ultimately, it came back to the same thing. The Sansara tribe radiates the best kind of positive energy - and so that's exactly what they attract. I found myself surrounded by kind, thoughtful, adventurous, grateful, loving people with a strong zest for life. Add to that a highly competent staff with a true desire to make you feel as at home and welcome as possible and voià - a blissful oasis of good vibes. The cleaning staff had a sixth sense. I came back one morning after surfing and they were just leaving my cabana, and another morning I returned a few hours earlier following yoga and they'd already come and gone, leaving my cabana sparkling and beautiful. And again, the surf instruction was the best I've encountered in the world. The guys helped me with some pretty great breakthroughs and I'm dying to get back out there with them again! All skill levels are welcome, and lessons or simply board rental is an option. I also had the opportunity this time to practice yoga with Janel (she is so, so good! I wish I could start every morning with her) and borrow one of the available bicycles to ride around - which was in immaculate condition. If you're a sucker for sunsets/rises, this place will blow your mind. Repeatedly. One of the big things I have come away with, again, is Sansara's remarkable ability to recharge my batteries. I love my day-to-day but it demands every last ounce of my energy. The sunshine that emanates from within this place and the opportunity it provides for you to "disconnect to reconnect" is like no other. A week after being back in this precious haven for just a few nights I still find myself bouncing down the street and frequently breaking into a smile for no reason at all. I can't wait to go back - the life Sansara breathes into me makes it so, so worth the trip."

"I have experienced many sport team or active living tours over the years, this is number one for me. The location, common facilities, room, staff, activities and kitchen are all excellent. The attitude of the staff is positive and ultra helpful. I can't imagine how you couldn't have your needs met as the staff is there to adjust and accommodate if there was a change needed. My daughter and I had the time of our life - we will definitely plan a return trip. I have to give the food an extra thumbs up - it was fresh and healthy with good variety. The popsicles and smoothies are fantastic, as is the choice of cocktails and beer on tap."

"I had an absolutely amazing time at Sansara! The area is extremely beautiful and the land is so well developed. The rooms are simple, yet accommodating, but trust me, you will now want to spend much time inside! There are so many different activities including yoga, snorkeling, biking, beach walking, fishing, hiking, exploring, and a new favorite of mine - surfing! This is an amazing place to learn to surf, especially if you are apprehensive about trying it out. What really makes the trip enjoyable is the staff, who are super friendly, helpful, nice, and accommodating! I would recommend this place to anyone!"
